Can anyone confirm if itâll be infomercials just during commercial breaks and regular âlifestyleâ 2UE programming? Or will we see wall to wall integrated commercials and programming?
Will be interesting to see what ACMA has to say about all these infomercials if they go ahead.
ACMA has nothing to do with it. 2UE can run as much advertising/integrated content as it wants. I have heard the format will be speciality shows based on clients who have the money to fund the contentâŚ30 mins to one hour in duration. But that may change!
There is actually a restriction on the number of minutes per hour that can contain advertising. In this case itâs a matter of what advertising means and if their content meets those requirements. I think they should be safe however as thereâs no problem when other stations/shows run segments/competitions that are basically all about promoting a product.
This 2ue content sounds awful. Once great station is a pile of rubble. No one on this earth will want to listen to that shit.

Peter Peters wouldnât have liked what happened on 2GB yesterday. When Debbie Spillane won a sports cadet comp at 2GB way back and management put her into the Hollywood & Zorba rugby league coverage, Peters went ballistic and refused to talk to her on-air. Peters views towards women havenât changed, btw, going by his antics in recent years.

Yeah might be end of an era. Yeah interesting they were promoting 90 years etc. Will George and Paul move to GB? They do call it the dark side. I donât think they would like to call UE as lifestyle radio.
I think it would be good to see them move to 2sm. John and Gary could go to 2sm as a lead in to John Laws. Grant Goldman could do an afternoon show before talkin sport.
Other than 2sm, WS FM could have a talk show? Hmmm maybe not. George an Paul, might be too right wing for ABC local radio.

Seems like the logical step for George and Paul to move to 2GB. 6am-12pm weekends.
Could never understand why they didnât get the station sponsored - would have been a perfect fit.
