Not even. Probably only 5min walk between GTV and Fairfax media house.
Ross Greenwood has quit his Money News show on 2GB and is āin discussionsā with Nine about his future - wanting a break after 40 years. Good luck to him
According to Rossās tweet, he is ātaking a breakā from Money News.
Would be good if AW and BC take a permanent break from Money News.
Ash Bradnam and David Lutteral could phone in a sports show then for BC, if only Ash lived in Brisbane, itād be like old times when they used to do the sports show on BC.
Thatās a shame. Ross is a great operator.
Agree. For 3AW - Sports Day might return to a 2 hour show or theyāll have Denis Walterās new nights program start locally at 7pm.
I would love Sportsday returning to two hours on 3AW. At present, people have to go to Sportsday website to listen to the full two hour show. Also, some content on the second hour is pre-recorded in late afternoon before the show goes to air at 6pm. Having the full show on 3AW will allow for more live interviews, breaking news and listener phone-ins.
Axe the name Sportsday and bring back Sports Today across the Nine Radio Network. Leave Sportsday to Crocmedia/SEN.
Then again, a Sports Today type programme would fit and sound better on MSR.
Iād say Deb Knight will replace him next year.
The Macquarie Syndication website is showing that there will be Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve from 6:00pm until Midnight, replacing the night program.
I wonder if simon and phil will do their normal hosting of the carols of candlelight on 3aw. It would be good if 3aw kept simon/phil for carols of candlelight and good friday appeal
Steve Price has been sacked from the Afternoon program on 2GB late today. A replacement is yet to be announced.
7 News reporting Steve Price has been sacked.
Is John Stanley still at the Macquarie Radio Network? Because I personally think heād probably suit a more news/agenda-setting afternoon show quite well.
Of course such a move would probably result in having to appoint a new nights presenter, but surely Michael McLaren deserves a promotion after more than a decade (on weeknights & weekends at various points in time) on overnights?
Either way, you again have to wonder how Brian Wilshire (who was moved to overnights because of the need to find room for Steve Price post-MTR closure, before retiring a few years later) feels about this news? In any case, Iād imagine that the chances of him making a comeback to radio are very slim to none - especially because heās now in his 70sā¦I think.
Of course they would - remember who their Sydney news director is again?
The Macquarie talent merry-go-round continues:
On Friday morning, 2GB and 4BC announcer Steve Price was informed by his recently installed boss at Macquarie Media, Tom Malone, that he would not be remaining in the same afternoon slot in 2020, with former Today co-host Deborah Knight taking over the reins.
Price had initially been offered an unspecified role with Nine for 2020, however it appears by late Friday afternoon he had opted to resign, becoming the latest personality to depart the station, following the likes of Chris Smith and Ross Greenwood.
Knight will continue to appear on Nine as a āregularā newsreader for both Today and Nine News
Good riddance
So Macquarie werenāt lying after all when they said Denis Walter wouldnāt be replaced by Steve Price.
Given George and Paul have dropped hints that Mooreās replacement will be female you have to wonder if Deb was originally intended to take his weekend spot or if they have another female lined up to take his place. Would they place Chris Bath on 2GB weekends even though she reads news on Ten?
Maybe the deal Price has with Ten also got in the way of negotiations with nine.
By the sounds of Chris Bath she wants to move away from radio for the moment and concentrate on working at 10.
