I felt sorry for him with the whole London incident. He made the headlines because he was famous, other people could have dealt with it on the quiet.
I am always amazed that he lives in a glass house but he is so willing to throw stones. His listeners look to him as a moral compass, yet he has the experience of being arrested.
Such a complex man. With so much in common with George Michael.
It goes to character and that event combined with the litany of other stuff he has said and done points to a morally dubious individual.
The interview on nine was woeful. He said he doesnāt pump up heās own tyres then proceeded to say he has many letters on his desk where he has helped any number of women. Then he proceeds to play the victim regarding the abuse he is getting on social media. Ironic given the vitriol and abuse he serves up daily to all manner of people on air.
Heās 78 and doesnāt need the money so he should just fuck off and do something else. Why bother?
His column appeared in The Daily Telegraph today along with prominent advertising for the Jones and Credlin show which aired tonight on Sky News. Why isnāt News Corp also facing boycotts from advertisers given they also provide him with a platform for his commentary and outdated views?
Grubby and Dee Dee filling in for Denis Walter on 3AW this afternoon. Denis injured his back while chopping firewood at his backyard last night, but should be back on air tomorrow (Friday).
Grubby and Dee Deeās show The Weekend Break returns next Saturday week (August 31) from 2pm to 6pm, and will air intermittently during the AFL finals.
Reasonable question and a reasonable answer. Gladys Berejiklian is supporting the bill, and itās perfectly reasonable to probe the motives of any politicianās reasons for supporting or opposing a bill. She had no problem with the question and answered by saying she wouldnāt have an abortion herself but doesnāt want to impose her decision on others or make anyone else feel guilty about making their own decision.
I donāt see the problem with the question at all. If anything I think it cleared up some misconceptions in parts of the community.
The ājokeā in this story is Ben Fordham (he of the staring eyes). This is not a question for any woman to have to answer on air! This whole station and itās so called āshock jocksā stinks. Hopefully 9 can clean up the mess when they take over.
Yesterday morning, when Peter Saxon posted his Op Ed piece on the fallout from Alan Jonesā comments about NZ Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, 52 advertisers had pulled their schedules ā either from The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, 2GB as a whole or the entire Macquarie Network.
As of now, 24 hours later, a further 15 have jumped ship according to the Sleeping Giants website belonging to the activist group thatās been spearheading the boycott campaign against the veteran broadcaster.
This takes the total number of cancellations to 67 or 62% of the 108 advertisers identified by the group as having advertised on 2GB over the past week or so.
I have often thought that Mark Levy was just a āRay Hadley sound-a-likeā but at such short notice I thought he handled the shift well and now think maybe he is wasted at MSR. Now that John Stanley has his own shift my betting is that Mark will fill in for Ray over the Christmas/New Year break. According to the Australian Adam Lang is now on thin ice, his departure canāt come quick enough!
Also a bit of a work-a-holic. Mark Levy doing 4.5 hrs on MSR and to do another 1.5 hrs on 2GB with little notice is impressive.
It appears he also works 7 days a week. Doing MSR Mon-Fri 5:30am-10am, plus Continous Call Team Friday (7pm-10pm), Saturday (4pm-10pm), Sunday (1pm-6pm) and filling in for Ray. That has to be a record.
I think he gets Friday nights off these days but none the less still works 7 days a week. And I know he cops some flack but heās done well with Mark Riddell to make the MSR Breakfast Show somewhat of a success in Sydney and Brisbane. Itās a good listen.
Plenty of shows are a good listen but simply donāt have the audience to sustain. Gibson & Duckworth on 4MMM in the 90ās an example. The pairing of Dan and Maz a more recent example. Rod & The Flack too.
