I’ve said it before - I believe the Magic format would do better in Sydney than Easy Music.
ACE seem to be stuck on trying to pick up where 2CH left off. The unfortunate thing is, many of those former 1170AM listeners left when SEN launched - heading for other stations that they’re now used to.

It depends if the agreement allows ACE to lease another 48kbps for a second DAB+ channel, considering that 2GB and 4BC are using 96kbs, this could easily be split in half at some point. That would mean 4 channels each on 48kbs at EEP-2.
A nice surprise this morning at 5.12. 4BH pulled out Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) from 1997.
Played into the Righteous Brothers Rock and Roll Heaven without sweeping and it sounded just fine.

Is the 4BC music mix, a safe mix (at breakfast)? I guess 4BC is now a Nine Music Station so not off topic

Ha ha! Unfortunately, that is the problem 4BC faces. The most important daypart on the station is completely different from the rest of the station.

Yes it’s very safe. Just the most common classic hits… 4KQ was very safe at breakfast too so LG&M listeners won’t notice any difference.

The digital billboard had a typo for a couple of days “1160” not “1116”.

So the colours of the logo are the same colours and logo design for EASY MUSIC 2UE and EASY MUSIC 3MP. Pretty much like the production voice over and styling of 4BH still. Designed for an easy listening station more so than a classic hits format. Nothing clever in use of orange/yellow reminiscent of the previous 4KQ colour.

Agreed, It seems to be improving every week. 3MP has also greatly improved since Ace took over.

Not hard given 1377 hadn’t been a music station for a few years 
. Although I did enjoy the Classic Rock period, I think the balance provided by an easy listening station is welcome even if sometimes they skew a little old for my tatse.
If I was Ace Radio, I would book ads on TV for Magic 1278 to promote it across Melbourne and let people know there is a classic hits of the 60s 70s and 80s station again! After Gold 104.3 abandoned the 60s and most of the 70s ages ago. With a playlist like that they deserve to get higher ratings to the level that 4KQ had and Cruise 1323 has! Also 3MP should book print ads in local Peninsula newspapers to promote “the Peninsula’s own radio station!”.

I agree with you, 3MP had it’s Origins in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula, While the Station shall join the Heritage Regional AM Network while Magic sticks with Classic Hits and Continue to be linked with 2UE & 4BH.
unlikely, unlike all the heritage regional AM network stations 3MP can’t take 3AW programming and SEN football because both these stations are receivable across the 3MP service area and it would have caused duplication. Also 3MP was synonymous with easy music for much of its life it should stay that way.

??? (I randomly check ARN “find your local station” site and found this - if station is not owned or operated by ARN but only have partnership in form of of ad sales, then 2UE must be placed at “ARN Regional” (like 2SM) @myfriend)
Ratings lifts for 4BH and 2UE. Not so good for Magic. Results out shortly
