Or Breakfast again?
They already have Stevie Jacobs doing breakfast and mornings
The story at Radio Today claims he indicated this:
So it appears he would like to still be involved at Triple M next year.
Did Eddie actually quit? Or did they decide to dump Hot Breakfast? That’s what an article on Mumbrella implies.
He really is “Eddie everywhere”, manages to get on Nine Music thread all the way from MMM.
Don’t really equate Eddie with presenting on a music only station. MMM being a bit of a hybrid.
Agree he would be more likely to host a talkback only program than a music only program.
Eddie McGuire would probably be a better fit for 3AW than the music stations?
I personally think the aim for the Nine Music stations over the next year should be to get presenters for Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoons & Drive with a local announcer during at least the Breakfast timeslot…however I’m not holding by breath for this to happen!
But they already have a breakfast announcer!
But he’s not that good… and not live!
The artist specials that are now aired each Saturday at 12pm (and repeated Wednesdays at 6pm) and the little ‘Song Remembers When’ clips that are played throughout the afternoons on 4BH/2UE/Magic etc. - are those produced by Nine Radio for these stations or are these something they’ve acquired from elsewhere? I noticed they added them a few months ago now and was curious about them.
2UE has a catch phrase now “Another classic hit that won’t be forgotten”. They are playing a lot of 60s music these days.
.
Anyone catch whether Stevie Jacobs’ shift is still airing? He popped up on the Today Show this morning (not that his shift is remotely live by any means, but curious to see if someone at Nine Radio took note)
I know voice tracking is not new, but 2UE should have a live breakfast show. I have not really closely listen to Smooth a lot lately, how many of their shows are live?
2UE, Magic and 4BH will simulcast Nine’s coverage of Carols by Candlelight from Melbourne at 8pm local time this Thursday.
2UE seems to be simulcasting Nine Melbourne.
9Music stations will be doing the Greatest 500 Countdown shortly.
Good to see some action happening on these stations.
Interesting prefix on the My Sharona.

This was immediately following a “My song remembers when” segment.
Also noted on their website:

On 2UE this afternoon:
The Everly Brothers - “Wake Up Little Susie”
…followed by…
T. Rex - “Hot Love”
Now THAT’S what I call music variety!
I have to admit I listened to 4BH on a few long walks over the weekend and they were ripping out some fantastic songs. For the first time I could see them perhaps giving 4KQ a run for their money - although to do that it needs to sound a little more ‘live’ in my opinion.
