Nine On-Air Presentation

Rebrand alert?

The logos have been flat 2D today on STW (with the current time banner graphic) , still I believe it when I see it. Expecting the same ole 3D logo back after the grand final.

I would expect a major rebrand next year probably after the Australian Open or at Olympics

I also think a flat rebrand is definitely coming too. A lot of ads have been using the flat variant lately.

Will need to wait for the first normal program to see whether this is more than something temporary, but the 2D has been very prominent through the GF on the Olympic bug and in promos.

It’s not something that has to be implemented all at once. Very easily allows for a gradual transition that most viewers would hardly notice.

Correct and considering news had a partial refresh only recently I would hazard a guess that it would probably keep using the 3D logo for a while yet.

.Nine’s graphics people are going to go through 3D withdrawal symptoms when the time comes. They love 3D.

I don’t mind the 2D now. Looks better than the bold, brighter graphics they had. Are they scared that they won’t do 2D and stick with the current graphics right now.

Really hope Nine overhaul their presentation with a flat logo. The gloss is looking tired now.

We’re now approaching 12 years using the current gloss variant. It’s definitely run it’s course!

Calling a relaunch to coincide with the beginning of Australian Open.

Even a casting call for Tipping Point using the flat version

This is Nine’s last year of their current TA deal, their next deal (signed at the end of last year) commences in 2025, as does Seven’s next AFL deal.

I’d have thought these networks were waiting to then, financially, to put all their effort (including coverage/presentation/commentary/new segments etc re-launches) into?

You could be right though, considering Paris 2024 Olympics and wanting everything to push into that and have a half-relaunch in Jan and then finish the re-launch off ‘after the Olympics’.

It’ll happen at some point next year across a few areas. Don’t be hoping for an “overhaul” though.

Even I have noticed it on some of their advertising, so there must be a refresh coming, whether hard or otherwise (others suggest it will be otherwise).

This graphics team will be dragged kicking and screaming to 2D!
