Nine On-Air Presentation

15 April next year will be 10 years of Nine using the current Nine logo launched with the 2nd Welcome Home on-air presentation

I guess you could say they’re the same, but I still consider the 2009-2012 and 2012-Present logos to be different.

It’s pretty rich for Hamish Turner to be complaining about spin, deception and fake news when he’s done the exact same things in the interviews he’s done today with the AFR, TV Tonight and Mediaweek.

I think you’ve answered your own question there: We have implying that they were the one. That’s how I thought it as.

Seven could still be the one…

It all seems a bit strange when a network feels the need to release a media campaign, do interviews and release reports to explain the meaning of their on-air presentation. Either the message is suspect, something that isn’t readily obvious or the presentation is lacking or both.

I think you’ll find the first logo in your post was the 2009-2012 logo. The glossy gradient in the numeral as seen in the second logo was definitely introduced in 2012. Can also been seen below in the 2012 season of The Block.

This may be controversial but I much prefer the ā€œWelcome Homeā€ slogan. Still the One feels especially out of place in that promo which is a shame because I think the promo is very well done until the end. But I really don’t know how after playing that song called Great Southern Land and having a voiceover saying ā€œnever been prouder to stand by your sideā€ you finish with ā€œStill the Oneā€ and not something like ā€œWelcome Homeā€. Very few people would know the Still the One slogan is in reference to TV ratings; pretty everyone else would be asking, ā€œStill the One at what?ā€

Shame they couldnt have left the gradient in 2009

Yes you’re right. I completely forgot about the original coloured series! Should be 2009-2012, 2012-2015, 2015-Present.

I think you’ll find All Stars was the first of two 2013 seasons, being the 10th anniversary since the first season in 2003.

Will channel 9 ever change its program return graphics? They have used the same ones for over 5 years

It’s not something they change very often. No need to, that and production end tags.

Having the same ones for many years gets boring, it needs a refresh

I’d imagine we’ll see something new in the near future, given the return of ā€˜Still The One’ as the Network slogan, and the fact the current On-Air Presentation debuted in 2015, though has aged well and still looks fresh imo.

Maybe instead of going completely flat for the logo, they may try gradients instead of 3D effects? Gradients have had somewhat of a resurgence in the branding word, take Globo for example:

Also 10’s current On-Air Presentation since 2018 rings a bell as well.

Still think ABC US’s presentation could work so well for Nine…

I like the flat ABC logo. Reminds me of Ten’s 1991-2007 look

If/when they decide to update their on-presentation I’ll miss the sponsorship billboard music. Always found it oddly soothing

The sponsorship billboard music on Nine is as iconic as the Sunday Scoreboard music during sport on Nine News. Hopefully here to stay.
