Just saw a âWe (HEART) Itâ three second promo on Nine in Newcastle - starts with 4 young people with their arms around each other and then an aerial shot overlooking Newcastle from the port.
It looked quite schmick.
Now donât tell me those have been running for at least a month - right?
I wonder if Nine realised that they couldnât entirely cheapen out with the Christmas Idents this year and got DD8 to produce them? Iâm not sure about everyone else, but I think that the âHO HOâ text especially is reminiscent of stuff seen in the more recent Idents on GO!/9Go!, something which the broadcast design specialists in question just happened to produce!
AnywayâŚwhile I personally think that Nineâs 2016 Christmas Idents arenât the best ever (especially music wise), I still think they are certainly considerably better than the absolutely horrendous âeffortsâ from last yearâs festive season.
That seriously wouldnât be hard though would it? Considering last yearâs disastrous âeffortsâ anything would be considered an improvement. It is better of course (even though itâs very similiar to that of 9Go!'s), but itâs still pretty average to what has been created in the past.
I wonder if Seven or Ten will do anything now (under two weeks to go!).
Random tidbit: this late night movie (A Midnight Clear) doesnât have break bumpers or any super before ad break. Fade straight to commercials. Never seen that happen before for a movie airing on Nine.
Iâve always wondered why they bothered with those, especially at 2am. Seven and Ten mostly phased them out outside of primetime in the late 90s/early 00s
