Just going to mention this:
NBN is still using the 3D glossy logo on Sponsor Billboards….
Also forgot to mention, some of them have the ‘HD’ next to the logo (5 years after it was retired)
So I guess anyone looking for a 9HD Sponsor Billboard, NBN is your go-to

I often imagine how the logo or packaging would appear when rendered with either the current numeric ‘9’ or a historically accurate recreation of the 1957–1969 GTV / 1964–1969 QTQ numeric ‘9,’ wherein the original 3×3 dot matrix is reconfigured into three discrete three-dot arcs, stylized to represent radiating broadcast signals emanating from a transmission tower.

Looking back, the whole thing was just disappointing. I was expecting a whole new look 9 numeral but not to be.

Not sure if this was a Nine News specific promo, or a general Nine Brisbane promo being referred to.
A Channel 9 promo featuring a bizarre AI-generated Brisbane skyline has raised concerns over Sydney-based decision-making.
Insiders say the short promotional clip, produced in Sydney, aired in Queensland and included an aerial night view of Brisbane depicting what appears to be two Story Bridges, positioned at either end of the CBD.
The video also features high-rise buildings that do not exist and portrays the Brisbane River as widening dramatically into what resembles a bay on the city’s western edge.
The sources said the error was only identified after the promo had already aired on Queensland broadcasts, and was subsequently withdrawn.
But a Nine spokesperson denied any error went to air.
“Any incorrect imagery is picked up during usual production checks and processes,” they said.

You don’t realise how old Nine’s On-Air Presentation is until you realise….
- Channel 10 underwent 2 changes since Nine’s package introduction (2018 & 2025)
- Channel 7 underwent a few minor tweaks in their package (2016, 2019, 2020)
- ABC made slight tweaks (ABC → ABC TV, ABC3 → ABC Me → ABC Entertains, ABC2 → ABC Comedy → ABC TV Plus → ABC Family)
- ABC News received three different graphics packages (2017, 2021, 2024)
- SBS World News updated their graphics package slightly
- The Start time for ABC2/Comedy/TV Plus changed a few times (7.00pm → 7.30pm in 2017, 7.30pm → 6.30pm → 7.00pm → 7.30pm in early 2023)
- The entire globe went through a pandemic
- Prime7 & GWN7 were rebranded to 7 Regional
- BI-LO stores were rebranded to Coles, ending the franchise
- Holden, Ford & Toyota shut down local manufacturing
- The entire M1 Route from Sydney to Brisbane is almost fully a motorway (or at-least dual-carriageway), With Coffs Harbour & Hexham Bypasses remaining
10 Years later, and all of that has occurred… Surely after the Olympics, they should launch a new graphics package. They teased us with lineups… Time to make the change Nine.

I don’t think that’s right, they changed their logo and did a whole restart in 2018 but Ten have refreshed their look multiple times, I’d say at least three times since 2018.

There’s no benefit when what they have serves them fine. It’s be silly to spend more money on cosmetic changes when they’re trying to take costs out of the business. Unless the Gordon’s decide to take it over, then I could see a justification to put their stamp on what would become a unified business.

In my honest opinion, they should revert to 3rd full time - It will align the main channel with the multis (Multis still using 3D). Plus, you got to add the PRG animations for the channels (9Go! twirls in, 9Life has the yellow drop that glides out, 9Rush is animated)
Just return to 3D full time Nine… may as well - would give this thread a rest of ‘When is the relaunch coming’, ‘Must be arriving after [INSERT SPECIAL EVENT]’

I don’t think an overhaul is needed. There are just elements that need updating that keep the brand fresh.

Practically… I was making a whole mockery of the recent discussions. I still stand by the fact it revert to 3D.
