are they stand-alone idents or are they tied in with Stan promotions, as I think it was suggested earlier in this thread?

I think they’re like the ABC where they advertise that channel’s offering plus a digital offering (in this case, Stan instead of iView)
yeah but I think it was suggested that wrapping it with a Stan promotion makes it one of those branded idents that don’t count towards promotional content. Like those incessant movie tie-in idents. It’s to exploit a loophole.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s the networks listing for the evening, it qualifies no matter what.
Honestly no different to a sponsor board before or after the lineup

My memory is getting sketchy, but IIRC it’s in the commercial TV industry code of practice somewhere. Been a while since I looked it up. Will need to track it down. I think it provides an exemption that allows (e.g.) those movie-themed station IDs to air but not be counted as commercial content, or thereabouts. I wouldn’t be surprised if tying these signpost idents with Stan promotion is another exemption.

Exactly, it’s why you see both News brands do the in program “ad” with headlines at the bottom. It’s a loophole that’s not commercial. Because it’s in program

A good way to do it is promote the Stan. content before breaking away to the lineup.
Looks more natural and gives the chance to conclude with a quick transition to the 9 logo at the end of the lineup.

Nine previously aired blanket promos that didn’t include specific timeslots—most notably for Footy Classified when it aired on Monday and Wednesday nights. It appears that an outdated promo has been mistakenly loaded onto TCN’s and QTQ’s systems for 100% Footy, and this oversight still hasn’t been corrected.

I forgot to mention, I spotted an ad on the scoreboard during last night’s match that said ‘stream footy free’ with a flat 9Now logo. It was noticeable as it kept flicking between that and the other one of ‘additional streams’ with the 3D dotty.
