Sam Fricker offering great insights at the diving. He’d be gutted he didn’t qualify for the team. But fuck me Mark Taylor is annoying af. Has ever heard of “less is more”. Let the pictures breathe.
His voice is so grating. Listening to the World Feed on 9Now is much more tolerable.
Fricker is fine and offers some great additional analysis that you don’t usually hear.
I would suggest Ally is flying back to get back into ACA which returns on Monday. Same with Karl & Sarah!
Nothing against them sticking a watermark on it, but having the tagline Your Home of Sport when they don’t have the Olympics is just ironic.
Nor the Australian Open Tennis or the Melbourne Cup Carnival in which they past covered
It almost feels like channel 9 now is like retro channel 7.
Eddie McGuire is just awful as a sports host.
Let’s hope he’s not around hosting at the next 2 Olympics.
Completely disagree. Eddie is excellent.
Good to see a Melbourne presenter on the coverage.
Clear they want their national presenters back home in Australia to start the normal week off strong. They have enough depth of talent in Paris still that it won’t make a difference. Good move.
DAY 15 SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
OLYMPIC GAMES PARIS 2024
LIVE AND FREE ON THE 9NETWORK AND 9NOW
Track star Jess Hull and the Stingers are out to continue the Aussie gold rush across a sensational Saturday of sport on Day 15 at Paris 2024.
In Australia’s most successful Olympics ever, the Stingers will be first up to add to our record gold medal tally when they meet Spain in the final of the Women’s water polo.
After defying the odds in a miraculous penalty shoot out victory over the USA, the Stingers will need to keep riding their wave of momentum when they go into the game as underdogs.
At Stade de France, Jess Hull has her eyes on the prize in the Women’s 1500m Final, when she aims to become the first Australian since Herb Elliott in 1960 to win Olympic 1500m gold.
Steph Curry and Lebron James will suit up for Team USA in the Men’s gold medal match against home nation France, whose hopes sit on the shoulders of 20-year-old NBA No.1 draft pick, Victor Wembanyama.
Curry ran hot in their semi final against Serbia, dropping 36 points on the way to sealing a famous comeback victory. His dream team of NBA superstars are now out to complete their mission and go down in history as one of the greatest basketball teams ever assembled.
The Men’s Marathon will kick off the action on an exciting Day 15, when team sport gold medals will also be awarded for Men’s Volleyball and Women’s Football.

Not sure having staff work 14-15 days straight then hop on a 24 hour flight and just get a couple of days off to recover from all of that before doing a full week on the day job is really R&R.
So is Todd in Paris this morning or not?
Yes. It sounds like when he said he wasn’t presenting the 3pm highlights show today and tomorrow that someone assumed he was leaving Paris and heading home when in fact he was just moving to the Today in Paris program.
Yeah I’ll be very surprised if he’s not leading the CC call again, he was very good and also was singled out online as the only good one from the OC.
–
Also, FWIW, he was pretty darn good on Weekend Today this morning, as was Loxley and the two together, bar that 8am tech glitch with the run sheet not matching the graphics and Woody went “our first double fault of the morning”. Potential for something more in the future there, maybe fill-ins if needed
I disagree. I think he’s been the best. Leila, Ally, Karl and Sarah have been the worst. All of which are conveniently NOT sports presenters.
RE: Eddie +1 TBH
–
I actually found Leila a bit better last night, at least the on-screen and earlier studio moments, like they’d done more careful pre-planning and maybe some steering from Bracey.
Whereas her and Alcott, was almost like they just waltzed onto the studio each day and winged it, with Dylan doing the heavy lifting and engagement.
Also found Brace got more air-time not having Ally there.

Surprised 9Gem’s feed is continuing into the wee hours of Monday morning… Surely they could wrap this by early tomorrow evening. Unless I’m missing something?
Even a lot of the next 24-48hrs on the main channel are going to be replays and rehashes.
Is Todd Woodbridge the Mark Taylor of beach volleyball? I wonder if he copped the same criticism
They really have given it to Taylor all Olympics. Completely unfair imo.
I miss Roy and HG. Last appearance was just over a decade ago and the comedy duo hasn’t made an appearance on Nine yet
Check out the ABC! They have an Olympic podcast
