I think the men’s final was after, so maybe he thought of keeping him still then but decided to let him have the moment with the family after seeing them jumping into the water. But yeah it was odd because he let Richard leave early the both times Jess won

Why are we at the show jumping when Jess Hull is about to race. They better make it back to the track for live coverage.
Edit: Nope. Flick to Stan and it’s live and nine are showing some sort of equestrian event with no Australian.
Edit 2: oh dear now 9 are showing the replay of the surfing and completely missed Jess Hulls opening race in the 1500m. Just fucking baffling decisions.

They’re probably not bothering as the bulk of their audience is watching Nine News, will probably air it after 7, not that I think that’s a good call. Perhaps they missed the cue with Gerard and couldn’t get it to air in time for Go! or Gem, which would be pretty lousy.

How ridiculous… they showed heat 1 and 2 live then just cut away and went equestrian and replays of surfing. Most people would’ve been waiting for it. It happened an hour ago. Sometimes they have spoiled their great coverage with nonsense decisions.

Exactly - when they did their split screen with all the different feeds, and they had equestrian listed on 9GO, I thought they were running a third channel again - then I realised that the eastern states were on news, and that 9GO was carrying the main feed (SA, NT and WA were still watching on the main channel).
