Tom’s a great reporter but his presentation on Nine News (when he filled in before) and Today left quite a bit to be desired and tonight it really showed.
Maybe tomorrow onwards will be better, or not…

I’ve been very against this move, but actually thought Tom was ok tonight. In studio should be better. Let’s see how tomorrow night goes.

I like this below because you only see two colours at the bottom in the same shade:
I hate this below because there are two shades of blue used that don’t look good together. I think the darker blue looks awful. Just use the same blue as the logo.

It’s all just so… busy.
So much so that I actually think it takes away from the content a bit, it should compliment it rather than compete with it.
There are parts I don’t mind, the moody look of the studio, plus backdrops and desk screen look good but the rest I could’ve done without.
Some of the most basic elements to get right such as the supers and they’re just a mess. Keep it simple

Honestly what a clown. I don’t even follow him on X and that came up for me earlier, his whole schtick is so childish & petty and he can’t even see it.
A simple acknowledgement that others in the know had their facts correct would’ve sufficed, but then he’s doubled down and oversimplified the whole refresh as just being something that could’ve and should’ve been delayed until all states were ready simply by the news & digital teams having a chat.
Insufferable and laughable.

The blue and white colours, the circles, the globe maps… too similar to Channel 10 for my liking.

The new refresh is ok but I would have felt more excited and more interested had they put a local picture of the city / region in the background in the intro and opener like the other networks.

I thought these graphics looked familiar… the opener to that update with the dots is similar to the Sydney opener.

The new graphics are alright but shouldn’t be all caps all the time. The names of the presenters and reporters can use small letters, same with place names in the weather graphics.
Also why do they need to play the start of the theme music again when transitioning into the studio? I think it can be avoided by adding a few more seconds of the animated graphics, so that the voiceover, the theme music and the graphics all finish simultaneously as the bulletin begins.
