Monday (23/08/2021)-Tuesday (24/08/2021)
Natalia Cooper presented the National Morning and Sydney Afternoon News.
Paul Taylor presented the Queensland Afternoon News.
I think Lizzie Pearl is on âvaccination leaveâ. (Based on her Instagram).
Whenâs Davina due to return?
How would we know? Sheâll return when sheâs ready.
Im assuming no update on Jo Hall Presenting the arvo news? Last I heard she was just filming special reports for Melbourne 6pm.
Will have to wait and see what happens for the rest of this week, however Dougal has been doing every Wed, Thu & Fri since Brett left (as opposed to every fortnight), no sign of Jo on the news desk as yet.
I am wondering whether Nine have any other changes planned for the 6pm bulletin.
The loss of viewers in the 6.30 half hour is really bad now. They start off with a big audience and it all dwindles away. This is Sevenâs advantage where they seem to retain a lot of their audience over the full hour.
Viewers must really like Tim Watsonâs and Jane Bunnâs sport and weather segments, respectively.
Perhaps we might see Nine hire a meteorologist to present Melbourne weather?
Iâve expressed my opinion previously but IMO Tony Jones comes across as quite cold on air.
Clint Stanaway would be a much better option (although that canât happen given his radio duties).
I wouldâve suggested that Tony be replaced to freshen things up, however Iâd imagine that management love him, and theyâre clearly trying to build up his profile should he take over from Hitch, or Neil Mitchell on 3AW.
Iâm of the opinion that there is something in his contract which letâs him host a few times per year.
Someone here mentioned a while ago that they could be attempting to lift Brett McLeodâs profile by sending him back overseas, and give Hitch a few more years before sending him back to anchor.
I still reckon Alicia should be next in line however.
Seven News are winning the second half because of the lead into âHome and Awayâ which is seeing higher figures due to The Voice (which is almost double The Block in terms of views).
Not really. ACA is still outrating it at 7pm. Clearly something in the latter part of Seven News is resonating with the audience at present time.
Lizzie Pearl was back today.
Looks like Natalia was filling in for Mark Burrows.
âŚwith ABC News a close second, Home & Away a distant third (in Sydney & Melbourne at least).
Clearly something in the latter part of Seven News is resonating with the audience at present time.
From a Sydney perspective, possibly Matt Shirvington.
Letâs see how the ratings go now that Mel McLaughlin is back.
Audio issues with Peter Overton tonight, sound is fading in and out a lot.
I think we need to start counting when they donât have any issues.
The technical issues are probably a big reason why Seven are getting a leg-up on Nine in Sydney at 6:30pm. Any viewer can tell you that nothing is more frustrating from the audienceâs point of view than technical problems that affect their experience.
