Perth is like Brisbane. They have a long history of double header lineups on Seven and Nine and to a lesser extent 10.
Would be good to get a double act on Nine again to make to them competitive with Seven. Don’t think many have warmed to Michael Thomson.

Nine desperately needs a second presenter with Michael. Despite him being with Nine for 40 years, the audience don’t care. In all their other markets they are doing well.

Wouldn’t mind predicting there’s likely to be more Nine News Sydney bulletins with different presenter combos (as the 2nd in-line team, you’d imagine that GG, Erin & Belinda will eventually have some pre-move time at North Sydney) over the coming weeks.

I don’t know how long there is until the move to North Sydney happens, but with all the talk about the new studios being fully automated you’d imagine there are likely to be at least a few rehearsals/dry runs with the primary & secondary presenter teams so they can get used to the new environment while the techies can iron out any bugs.

Even if there’s little to no changes to the in-bulletin presentation, surely it wouldn’t be overly surprising if to coincide with the move (and/or the big blockbuster rugby league matches currently scheduled to air on Nine in October and November, for maximum viewer impact), Nine News puts out a major promotional campaign which reaffirms its commitment to Sydney?!

They wouldn’t.
They would have done the work during the day and everybody would have been home by 6pm to watch Mark Burrows.
As for doing them on a Sunday - why not if that’s the most convenient time to do them? Means the footage could have been made available today and that there are no physical obstructions or particular time constraints with using the office, studios, control rooms in Willoughby if required etc.
Lots of shows do rehearsals and shoot promos over the weekend.

that’s what I mean, why would promos prevent proper anchors being in the chair? I feel like it’s just pointless speculation as to why Mark was filling in.
