I think it is a contractual thing though, sadly. Tony probably has a certain number of weeks he has to present the news, and using him over summer and Easter (non-ratings) is best for everyone.

I don’t get the hate for TJ as news presenter. Sure there may be gaffs in other settings (that I’m not 100% familiar with tbh) but as a straight newsreader I think he’s pretty good.

It’s not that he is “bad”, he just leaves me cold, I don’t feel any “engagement” with him when he reads the news.

Bruce was in good form earlier this week.
After this he threw to “Andrew with a look at what’s ahead” in the 6pm news only to have Melissa present the update for which he apologised.

Doubt it - they’ll probably just stick to using Alicia/Dougal/Brett because they’re the 4pm Melbourne presenters, so naturally they’ll be doing these daytime national bulletins.
