I remember when the Sunday Footy Show (the NRL edition) crossed to him during a piece about the Melbourne Storm’s salary cap scandal in 2010, he said he was born or raised in Penrith. However I don’t think there is any legitimate evidence to support this.
Nine News Queensland with some presenter updates across this long weekend, to allow for more focused coverage of the AFL and NRL Grand Finals.
On Friday in Melbourne, 9News Queensland presenter Melissa Downes will be alongside 9News Queensland sports presenter Jonathan Uptin inside the MCG, showcasing the AFL Grand Final Parade festivities and sharing insights on the Brisbane Lions’ last training session.
Then they will back up on Saturday for a special bulletin marking the Lions’ first Grand Final in 20 years, while 9News Queensland presenter Andrew Lofthouse is in Sydney to preview NRL and NRLW finals fever and take viewers inside the Brisbane Broncos’ last training run.
On Sunday, Uptin will team up with Lofthouse to fuel the adrenaline at Accor Stadium for an epic double-header. Setting the stage will be the NRLW when first-time grand finalists, the Gold Coast Titans, meet the reigning premiers, the Newcastle Knights.
It was in response to the “yikes for Sydney” comment (I’m assuming that it implied that QTQ would ramp up the hype even more for the NRL Grand Final) … sorry for the confusion!
Should be said and put on the record that 9 Darwin Reporter Georgie Dickerson has been cleared of any wrongdoing in this case … hopefully this does not impede her chances of being promoted in the future. It’s a shame the news of her being acquitted will not spread as quick as the news of charges being laid.
They’re covering whole countries, and expected to report back to Australia operating on an opposite time zone. There are clear practical advantages to having multiple reporters there.
