âWhy was she there?â is the question Iâve asked Simon Hobbs on Twitter, however Iâm not holding my breath for a decent response!
Of course, Iâve also never understood why the commercial networks insist on doing Grand Final night live crosses with unruly and alcohol-influenced mobs of people. The infamous Matthew Snelson live cross (where people lifted him up in the air, etc.) at Bulldogs Leagues Club in 2012 shouldâve been a wake-up call to Nine.
Youâd think that should happen, if anyone at NSW Police was watching Nine tonight.

Hopefully when Sophie Walsh does return to the Sydney newsroom, weâll see her talents utilised far better by Nine than they were during her 2016-19 stint at TCN.
Vastly underutilised as a news/weather presenter (far better than certain presenters we see in the studio on a regular basis but really should stick to reporting - however letâs not go there againâŚ) last time, I hope weâll see Sophieâs presenting talents used to their full advantage over Summer and maybe even in 2021, the regular presenting role she deserves!
