I thought we might have seen Georgie tonight?
Do we know when her return to the news desk is effective from?
Probably early in the New Year?
I think Jayne Azzopardi will be going on maternity leave around then, so presumably Nine want to give her the opportunity to fill-in over Summer (which Iâm not complaining about, because Jayneâs certainly a better newsreader than Mark Burrows IMO!).

Is it official that Georgie got the gig for Sydney weekend 6pm news?
Where does that leave Deb? Most probably sheâll get Today Extra and maybe her own radio show
I believe she has been offered news on the Today Show.
Ok thanks, thatâs a good gig. She can still be the third host (potentially) on Today.
I really donât know why they would do that.
People clearly donât want Deb in the hosting role.

Firstly, the newsreader role isnât the hosting role.
Secondly, maybe Georgie was the issue? The ratings with Karl and Deb in the interim period between Lisa and Georgie were much stronger than Karl and Georgie.

The Age & SMH investigative reporter Adele Ferguson filed a report tonight. Her tone is really not suited for television.

I was actually referencing the comment about the possibility of Deb being the third host.
I doubt that they would do that after the failure of this year. At least, anytime soon.
And on the note of whether it was Deb or Georgie that was the issue, it doesnât matter, they both, along with Tom, Tony and Brooke are all âthe faceâ of the failure of Today in 2019.

It felt like it was a report for 60 minutes or the old Sunday program. Was fairly long and aired quite early in the news in Adelaide.

thatâs normal now when the newspaper crew do TV reports. Weâve seen it from their embedded journalists inside Syria etc
