The notion is that Deb hasn’t done anything wrong to lose the 6pm gig. But, I think this move was inevitable.
I reckon it’s more about who fits in better on Today as opposed to being punished and loosing 6pm.
She’s a brave woman staying on the show and going from main gig to newsreader.
She may not have had much choice in the matter, sadly.
So Deborah Knight is being shafted by Nine for a fourth time? I’m sorry, but that is absolutely disgusting treatment of an on-air presenter who’s media career they essentially rescued after Ten let her go during one of their many rounds of cutbacks.
10 News First: Open up the chequebook and do whatever it takes for Deb to “return home” to Pyrmont ASAP!
Are you really that surprised?
What did you expect them to do with Georgie?
Where would this then leave Sandra Sully? Or unless they revive the late edition of 10 News First which she could host, just like the good old days.
Georgie isn’t very popular in the newsroom - I don’t blame them.
Zara James presented Early News this week.
Monday 2 December-
Mark Burrows is presenting Morning News and Afternoon News in Sydney.
Tony Jones is presenting in Melbourne with Clint Stanaway presenting sport this week.
Unsurprising
Would much prefer the likes of Brett Mcleod or even Dougal Beatty.
Stephanie Anderson should present 6pm news.
Uninspiring to boot.
Monday (02.12.2019) - Friday (06.12.2019): Melissa Downes is anchoring solo in Brisbane. Michael Atkinson is on sport this week.
Luke Bradnam presented Monday’s weather.
Thursday 5 December-
Lizzie Pearl is presenting Morning News and Afternoon News in Sydney.
Tonight’s Nine News Sydney will probably be Peter Overton’s last for 2019?
I’m almost certain that this won’t happen, but it’d be nice if Pete signed off from tonight’s bulletin acknowledging that he’s about to go on holidays while simultaneously thanking viewers for again making Nine News Sydney #1.
The last bit sounds a bit tacky, I would rather he just wish the audience all a merry Christmas and happy new year. Leave the rest to the promos.
Disappointed Georgie is returning to 9NEWS. Deb knight has the authority of a news anchor as does Peter Overton.
Guess 6pm on weekends will be up for grabs in terms of my viewership. I think Michael Usher will get lots of viewers.
Nice to see the Sydney bulletin using James Wilson in their Bawley Point bushfire coverage. His live cross was flawless. Surely Nine would be considering him for the Sydney newsroom when a position opens up. He’s been a standout on the Illawarra bulletin.
Unless Seven backflips on its recent announcement (that Mark Ferguson would stay on weeknights) and announces Musher as its weeknight anchor, in which case Fergo or Angela Cox would take Friday’s and Saturday’s.
