Perth reporter Michael Genovese made an appearance on the Queensland bulletin tonight, but not in Sydney (as far as I know). This is the second time Genovese has crossed live to the Queensland bulletin (after 2016).

Sophie Walsh has been appointed European correspondent joining Amelia Adams based in London.She will take up her new role in the coming weeks.
Tim Arvier has been appointed North America correspondent, he will join the Los Angeles Bureau team in July.

While I’m obviously glad that Nine has given Sophie Walsh a promotion to the London bureau, at the same time it’s sad that us Sydney viewers will no longer (occasionally, but still) see her present the weather. As a forecaster, Sophie is so much better than Amber & Belinda IMO!

I think that will leave Natalia Cooper to be slotted on nicely to be the back-up weather presenter for the Sydney news.

Another thing I just realised: Tim Arvier’s move to the US bureau (apart from being yet another massive blow to Nine News Queensland) seems to add credibility to the theory that Karl Stefanovic will most likely end his association with the Nine Network after This Time Next Year finishes.
Something I skimmed over was that Richard Moran is new Nine’s Bureau Chief. He has worked with Penfold for decades as one of his cameraman.
