Another point to add - Arvier was Stateside during the Donald Trump presidential campaign in May/June 2016, and was there when Muhammad Ali died as well. He also had a stint in the States in the first quarter of 2017.
I think Nine execs must have been impressed with his work in the US during those two stints; hence his appointment.
Letâs just (again) go through that long list of personnel that QTQ have lost this decade (in no particular order) -
- Heather Foord
- Melissa Mallet
- Cameron Price
- Alyshia Gates
- Andrew Trewin
- Spencer Jolly
- Phil Willmington
- Davina Smith
- Sylvia Jeffreys
- Ashley McDermid
- Sophie Walsh
- Brittney Kleyn
- Carrie-Anne Greenbank
- Clare Hunter
- Alex Bernhardt
- Darren Curtis
- Joel Dry
- Nat Wallace
- Bence Hamerli
- Isabelle Mullen
- and now, Tim Arvier.
Also, does anyone know when Laura Tunstall is due back from her maternity leave? Her most recent report for Nine News Sydney was on May 26 last year.
Surely sometime this month; Alice Monfries is also due to return to Adelaide in due course. Her appointment in Sydney entailed covering both Tunstallâs and Kate Creedonâs maternity leaves.
Michelle Taverniti leaving also for EP for Europe. Great reporter and producer for 6pm Sydney News. Shame sheâs moving but will be a strong asset in Europe.
Friday 7 June -
Mark Burrows is presenting in Sydney tonight.
Whatâs the âHistoric Clashâ?
Darwin is hosting the first Suncorp Super Netball game in the Territory.
It was also announced that senior cameraman Richard Moran, who has worked alongside Robert Penfold for the past 15 years, will become the new LA Bureau chief. So Nine has decided the role will not be an on-air person.
Richard Moran with Rob
When does Rob officially finish up?
Sometime in July.
Saturday 8 June -
Deb Knight is back presenting in Sydney tonight.
With Kerrie Yaxley back from maternity leave and the election over, Airlie Walsh is heading back to TCN.
Probably taking over from Sophie when she moves to the London bureau?
Now, to wait and see what happens with the Laura Tunstall/Alice Monfries situationâŚ
When did Jarrad Brevi also move from NWS to TCN?
Airlie Walsh will probably pick up some of Sophieâs presenting shifts on the 5am news.
Airlie was one of the Early News presenters before going to Canberra, so she will probably go back to doing Early News.
Heâs been reporting in Sydney since February.
Iâd say that Jarrad Breviâs position like Emma Partridgeâs, pre-dates some of the more recent reporter reshuffles.
Apologies for the double post, butâŚ
This will probably get a mention on Nine News bulletins (particularly in Sydney) today?
