Mia presented the weather again tonight.
Mia was very popular on Friday - presenting a story on the Gold Coast news then later the weather for both Gold Coast and Brisbane bulletins.
The Sunday Telegraph reports Julie Snook is believed to be leaving Nine in a few weeksâ time to become a freelancer.

Dissapointing news, although sadly not surprising knowing how Nine have decreased her amount of airtime in recent months.
Cue the inevitable Jacketgate references/jokes!
Snook is a loss. I rate her higher than some of the female talent currently reporting for the Sydney bulletin. You have to wonder what role jacketgate may have played considering you rarely saw her given studio based duties during the afternoon following that disgusting incident.
Iâm quite pissed off that Snook appears to have been forced out and Lady Muck remains.
Especially knowing that the ratings of Nine News Sydney have regularly decreased during the 6.30pm half of the bulletin in recent times, while Sevenâs have often simultaneously increased.
Personally, I wonder what @SEQTelevision thinks. Julie Snook is/was one of his favourites IIRC!
Love Snook, a fantastic presenter, sheâll definitely have a great career wherever she ends up. I think the brief stint at the sports desk wasnât the best for her.
A terrible loss. Julie is a very talented, up-coming presenter and I hope she is given a permanent role behind the desk in the future. It is sad that her transition to prime time didnât amount to something, after 3 years or so on the 5am bulletin.
Interestingly, Nine denied to comment whether she was departing.
What is with that actually? There are quite a few juniors reporting these days.
Nine News Sydney hasnât bothered to update the âmeet the teamâ page on their site so you canât even gain a little familiarity with them that way. There are quite a few new faces on the bulletin, not necessarily all juniors, but when Nine has had such a consistent team for so long it takes time to get used to the new reporters as they grow into their roles.
The new state politics and senior crime reporters have had big shoes to fill. Emma Partridge is an experienced Sydney newspaper crime reporter but doesnât have the gravitas for the on air role that will only come with experience and time. Chris OâKeefe quickly made the state politics beat his own and his replacement, Liz Daniels, is fresh from 2GB so itâll take time for her to find her feet.
I wasnât referring to them specifially. And, I appreciate that networks should train and nuture young journos (something that TCN has done so well). I have just noticed an influx of juniors reporting for 6pm (the ratio flipping) in the past 1-2 years.
All I am saying that the 6pm bulletin could benefit from Gabrielle Boyle, Allison Langdon, Davina Smith reporting and get the novices to report for Today.
Iâm not really sure about the circumstances which lead to Nine hiring Emma Patridge as their crime reporter, other than they had Simon Bouda for ages before he returned to ACA.
But if weâre being realistic, Chris OâKeefe had probably been destined to recieve a promotion to Federal Politics for a while - it was really just a matter of whether heâd succeed Laurie Oakes or Lane Calcutt (as it turns out, the latter). Would it have been nice to see COK continuing to cover the Macquarie Street round? Of course, but at the same time Chris is probably going to have a very bright future ahead of him at Nine so I canât really complain about that.
Knowing some of the long standing Nine News talent which has retired in recent years, right now Iâd probably be wondering what the succession plan will be for reporters like Mark Burrows, Damian Ryan and Robert Penfold when they retire since that possibility is considerably less distant than it was ten or even five years ago.
Pete & Cam are in their Early/Mid 50s now so barring any unforeseen circumstances, theyâre probably young enough to continue presenting news & sport respectively for another 10-15 years. Not too sure how old Mike Dalton is (I personally wouldâve guessed somewhere around the Early-Mid 50s range), but heâs definitely another reporter who I hope will have a few more years on Nine News Sydney. Knowing what the media landscape is like these days, the retirement of Dalts will probably be the end of an era when it comes to that style of TV reporting in the Sydney marketâŚ
(27-28/4/2019) Former Nine News Central Victoria reporter Joshua Dawe is presenting sport in Perth this weekend.

Amber Sherlock was back presenting weather in Sydney tonight.
Monday & Tuesday -
Sophie Walsh presented Early News.

Mark Burrows is presenting Morning News & Sydney Afternoon News.
Dougal Beatty is presenting Afternoon News in Melbourne.
Brisbane reporter Ebony Cavallaro is reporting from London.
Kate & Brenton back in Adelaide tonight.
Brenton reading the weather forecast.
Some food for thought.
I have noticed that in recent times, Nine News Queensland have started rostering Garry Youngberry on Sundays-Thursdays, and Luke Bradnam on Fridays and Saturdays.
Perhaps they should start rostering Andrew Lofthouse and Melissa Downes between Sundays-Thursdays and Jonathan Uptin on Fridays and Saturdays (much like the format that is used in Sydney).
If this extended to the sports presenters as well, there is the chance that Wally Lewis would have to present the Sunday night sport from the stadium/ground where Nine would have just televised the Sunday Football NRL match (e.g. if this match was played at Suncorp Stadium then he would present from there) and be in the studio as usual on Monday-Thursday.
Itâs worth noting Seven News Brisbane attempted this format in 2013 (with Bill and Sharyn on Sun-Thu and Kay and Rod on Fri & Sat), but scrapped it after a year or so.
But IMO, having Andrew and Melissa on Sunday nights, straight after the football, could set them up to (potentially) win weeks. We saw the Sun-Thu/Fri-Sat format implemented on Nine News Sydney for significant success.
Iâve also noticed that after leaving Nine News Perth, Emmy Kubainski returned to Brissy. She could be a handy pick-up for QTQ if she ever wanted to return to television. Perhaps pair her with Jonathan Uptin on weekends? Local audiences will still remember her for her time on Seven News Brisbane earlier this decade.
when did he leave 9 news central vic? , and i think he was also a reported for 9 news western vic
I think that now with Michael Best returning home to become news director for Nine News Perth, Ebony Cavallaro may have been sent to London as a âcaretakerâ of sorts while the network searches for Bestâs full-time replacement in Europe.
Itâs unlikely to be Cavallaro, though, given she recently got married.
