Funny moment in the Sydney bulletin with Overton caught off guard having a drink as Cameron was wrapping up the sport preview.
Peter Overton caught out here trying to have a sip of water when Cameron crossed back to him earlier than expected
Lucky it wasn’t scotch and a cigar!!
LOL, someone should do a Photoshopped image of that!
I miss the days when a presenter had a ciggie burning in an ashtray next to them. I think Graham Kennedy was caught out having a puff after being thrown to earlier than expected on Coast to Coast.
You don’t see that sort of interaction between the wooden presenters over on the other channel.
For what they’re worth, some proper screen captures of tonight’s classic Nine News Sydney moment:
In the first cap, it almost looked like Pete was having his own “Natasha Exelby” moment! ![]()
Indeed, I’ve often wondered just how awkwardly Fergo & McLaughlin would handle the same situations that Pete & Cam always seem to make absolutely brilliant presenter banter out of…
McLaughlin just does not know when to stop talking and she makes it awkward by trying to have the last word like it’s some sort of competition.
If you notice when Jim Wilson presents sport, the transition between news anchor & sports anchor is far more professional and less awkward.
