Having both Dixie and Tracy together would be even better.
I like Tracy Vo as an anchor better than Louise, and I think that Nine should continue to groom their Perth talents by having one of them at 6 being led by an older, high profile anchor (Dixie, Rick and Sue etc.) so that it wilk build their profile for the future.
Na I rekon for news. They donât want any interstate people as they donât connect with viewers. They will want local faces. But even a change which 9 have done a lot of in the past will not undo 7s reign in the state.
In any case, the chances of Rick & Sue moving to Nine are about the same as Overton or Hitchener moving to Seven: Very slim to none. Even presenters like Narelda Jacobs on Ten or James McHale on the ABCâŚsomehow I canât see them moving to Nine anytime soon, so who else is there?
Interestingly 9 Perth cant care too much about their social media platforms. Twitter still has Tim & Emmy as the cover photo and Facebook references both as talent.
If they were to choose a Perth based presenter who doesnât belong to a network it would probably come down to Yvette Mooney, Sharlyn Sarac, Sonia Vinci, Craig Smart. There is also Paula Voce who works for Seven in the Summer but would be a good grab to present a double header with Craig Smart.
yvette hasnât been in the Media for years
I think they had the best option staying with Tim/Emmy but unfortunately they both walked
Not a happy bunch At 9 one would think Imo
Emmy is as good an option as any of these other female names being thrown around. I donât see the logic in dumping her only to bring in somebody like Tracey Vo or Paula Voce.
I suspect Nine wants to shift to a male single-header this year (ie their winning formula in Sydney/Melbourne with Brisbane possibly following suit soon as well) but Tim got a better offer elsewhere.
Are there any local male options aside from Craig Smart?
Actually Dixie & Sonya were closing the gap up. From 2003 they narrowed it from over 100,000 viewers to under 50,000 in 2006, but when Channel 9 Perth decided to put Coronation Street in its schedule at 5.30pm, ratings tanked.
