Yeah that’s Claire Ciantar
I reckon this why the statewide editions won’t return now
Content requirements are still being fulfilled with the national edition of Nine News Local.
i cant remember how the points system works. but its something like 2 points per minute of content that relates directly to the local area. that then adds up to a total for the week, so one story from each market wouldn’t cut it. Not even the updates have local stories in them,
You gain one point for each minute of:
news that ‘directly relates to the licence area’.
other material that directly relates to the local area or the licence area, such as a community service announcement

You can pretty much rule out state wide bulletins returning now.
Natassia Soper filed a report on ACA at the start of the show.
just pure specualation and clarification needed
You mean they aren’t returning?

I doubt we’ll get a citation, they just won’t return. There’s no point in them returning when staff are being redeployed, leaving for new jobs and there’s only two months if they even last that long.
If SCA decided to kick up a stink about it they might be able to but it doesn’t really sound like they give a toss about it anyway and if Nine can save some money by cutting costs in the regional areas - not their main concern as it is with metro being their O&O stations then they’d take it, especially after the amounts they would be losing currently from the cyber attack, I doubt they’d get everything back even through insurance.
Thank you for pointing out the obvious, which I think some people are missing.
There have been a bunch of posts of people moving to other networks or being redeployed. It is not worth Nine’s time and effort to reinstate a bulletin which will be on air for approx 40 days now.
Plus we’re also ignoring the fact that based on the caps above ^^^, the bulletin is still not running through the normal systems.
Good Evening, tonight on Nine News Darw- Local.
Already trying to get Local out of the studio!
Whilst it might seem logical to retain the national bulletin, it’s still a little too early to make that assumption. 9 still isn’t airing 5am, local 4pm or late news yet and teams are still split at GTV. So they are far from being back to ‘normal’.
Or is it just as simple as getting her to do something while she is getting paid?
Absolutely. But my thinking was that a Nine News presenter would at least stay in the news department while the bulletin is off air rather than suddenly filing an ACA report.
Natassia’s social media accounts say she is a Nine News presenter still
I’m told they will return soon.
Natassia posted this on her Instagram on 7 April…
And last night for her report on ACA she didn’t mention joining the show permanently, obviously time will tell if she is actually now a permanent reporter for ACA in Sydney.
so im guessing she was just freelancing as it were till 9 local news returns??
