Nine News Local

Yep. That’s what the TV Guide says anyways.

Also is it your MS anniversary @Zacgb? Given the cake next to your name.

Sure is, 4 years today! :astonished:

How time absolutely flies. I am glad we have such a vibrant and active community here at MS. One of my proudest moments is winning the competition to design the site’s new logo, I was happy I could give back

Congrats! I won’t say too much otherwise this whole thread could go off-topic

Is she actually confirming that it will come from the main news set at TCN, or just that it will be presented from the Sydney news studios?

Genuinely curious as to how they can make that happen, obviously the bulletin will need to be pre-recorded or at least a closer so the regular Sydney news can start on time.

Not sure - my guess is that the end of sport, weather & closer is pre-recorded.

Yeah definitely the weather will be pre-recorded since Gav will be doing it for all bulletins - and I thought I read in here that there will be no dedicated sports section in the bulletin, just local sports stories where resources permit.

Guess we’ll find out on Monday evening!

It could be recorded 5:15 to 5:45, giving 15 minutes for the Afternoon News to finish and the 6PM News to start.

As mentioned above, there is no sports in this bulletin.

Weather and closer will probably be pre-recorded.

I feel like this format was directed by SCA. If Nine were happy with the format they would be producing Darwin news with it.

Weather is pre-recorded for the entire country.

The way it reads is that it will be presented from TCN-9 (as it has been) and Natassia will be commuting from Wollongong daily. Not sure if she actually meant the metro set.

I can’t see it coming from the main sets as it would interfere with the 6pm bulletin prep. Happy to be wrong though. We’ll find out Monday.

Yeah I have to agree. Maybe present some segments from there? Like a special report? I dunno.

I highly doubt it will come from the metro set (ever). Why would they care more now about these bulletins than they did before?

The timing wouldn’t work for the metro set, else they’d be pre-recording somewhere in the early afternoon.

I don’t think that’s what Natassia is saying.
She is saying she will be travelling to Sydney from Wollongong every day.

I think it’s pretty likely they’ll continue to use the broom closet set they’ve always used. That way they don’t interfere with their main product, by using the metro set when it’s needed, and also means that the broom closet set isn’t just a complete waste of space.

Also ensures that the bulletin is live, which they’ve already stated it will be.

Well I have asked her if it’s “the same as where Sydney’s news bulletins” are done from - awaiting reply.

Nine having multiple studios at North Sydney means that this bulletin should still be able to have it’s own studio, I think, when TCN News moves.

Wednesday’s Darwin news;

Since 9 News Darwin isn’t apart of the new format (from what we know of) should we move all Darwin content to another thread?

With it being 7 and a half minutes long, they could easily add in national news, sport and weather and easily fill an hour of news instead of airing irrelevant QLD news in the NT.
