I did notice but idc, it’s hard to fix when that happens.
Not bad considering their limited resources, but still a shame considering they used to have a full local bulletin not too long ago.
Do they crash out of Nine News Queensland, or skip an ad break, or delay the start of ACA?
Someone explained above that they fill the first adbreaks in the 7pm and 9pm hours.
The opt outs have changed. At around 6:30 during NNQ they opt out for about 5 minutes and then twice during MAFS
Makes sense. That’s when people are expecting to see news. Definitely not during ACA
Yes but they should have two during NNQ, maybe first and 2nd adbreak. Although MAFS is quite high rating.
Are there any numbers on how the metro bulletins have been rating in the regional areas?
Terrible in Darwin as expected, not sure about elsewhere.
RegionalTAM has the answer, at least for the first week the metro bulletins have aired into Southern NSW, Regional VIC & QLD (week commencing 15th March).
Nine News (6-6:30pm) didn’t make the Top 20 on the week before (w/c 8th March), but it make the week before that (w/c 1st March). So, by comparing between w/c 1st March & w/c 15th March, the % difference is as follows for 6-6:30pm:
RQLD: +6%
SNSW: +10%
RVIC: +18%
6:30-7pm:
RQLD: +18%
SNSW: 0%
RVIC: +20%
So, rating higher without the regional bulletins?
The Coronavirus coverage also has something to do with the increase in ratings, but basically speaking, yes.
Of course we’ll just have to wait and see what happens over an extended period of time, but I personally wouldn’t mind predicting that the regional editions (and the local 4pm bulletins, but that’s for another thread) have gone the way of Nine News Now and won’t return to our screens even after the coronavirus crisis eventually ends.
Best case scenario would probably be a 5-10 minute window for local content at the end of the metropolitan 6pm bulletins. One presenter, maybe with the metro newsreader doing a pre-recorded cross to the regional segments.
wow thats a big rating for here in victoria
All news bulletins are up 20-30%
I don’t think people In Ballarat or Wollongong are immune from that trend, even though their local facade and content has disappeared
I know Vanessa is reading 5am, but how have Jo Hall or the Qld presenters been redeployed?
Jo Hall is reporting in Melbourne.
The three bulletins Nine axed need to be back on the air. This virus now has hundreds and hundreds of cases across regional Areas
Jo Hall, Nathan Currie, Mike Lorigan and Paul Taylor have been reporting on 6pm. I haven’t seen Samantha Heathwood though. If one of her Instagram post is anything to go by, posted above, I don’t think she is working for a while. I’d say she will be the back up if one of the QLD presenters cannot work.
Gavin Morris has been presenting NSW and QLD weather updates.
If Darwin used proper graphics in their updates;
