He wouldn’t of started at 5pm.
Just for the hour bulletins I’d say, which now might be every Sunday. Good changes- I really liked Brooke actually.
Horrid depressing backdrop
The backdrop is gross.
A newsroom backdrop would do.
I must be in the minority of people who actually like the late backdrop. It’s easy on the eye at such a late hour of the day IMO.
Agree… looks terribly bland.
Tracy Vo presenting tonight.
I think the issue is Perth as a small TV market and limited talent pool doesn’t have the talent to produce a good newscast. The Latest is clearly driven by a talented EP with a vision. It’s light years ahead of 9’s late bulletin out of Perth. The EP clearly knows how to do a standard 6pm bulletin and thats it - no vision. No innovation.
And last night Nine Late rated more than double The Latest.
Think it’s fair to say that in TV, ratings don’t always equal quality.
Also the late news on both Nine and Seven rely heavily on their lead-in. Nine’s lead-in (Botched) easily beat Criminal Minds in the same slot which could’ve potentially helped Nine’s ratings. If Seven had a decent lead-in to their late news then it would also do quite well.
Usually comes down to the lead in too.
I wasn’t commenting on ratings, I was commenting on the possible reason that the bulletin is pretty blah.
But on ratings - these bulletins are almost completely depending on their lead in. Nine’s lead in had 65% more viewers than sevens.
As these bulletins switch time slots every single night no one is Gino g in to see them, it’s almost entirely people catching the show who were watching the proceeding one.
Is that a fetch generated graphic? Do other programs appear similar to this?
Yep, every program in the Fetch guide has an image, even when the broadcasters don’t provide one, which results in many custom made images such as this one.
And a lot of outdated ones. They still have an Entertainment Tonight one with an image of the two main hosts, but one of those hosts Nancy O’Dell left nearly a year ago.
