he’s talking about that second shot with the image on the right, that’s a split screen between two images, not part of the ‘set’ or backdrop.
ah okay, thanks.
Honestly shout out to Kyrrie who is reporting, producing, filming and editing enough content to fill the Darwin updates alongside the national news coverage for Jefferson Lewis.
Impressive work for a one-person newsroom.
I think this, was taken from a live cross from 9 news QLD. From Facebook this appeared later in the report
Is she presenting these updates from Darwin?
just zoomed in to crop out the 9NEWS logo
In Front sounds like a racing/gambling show…
It’s really a news topic But anyway I don’t think Darwin will see the reinstatement of news bulletins meaning that news updates are likely to continue in its current form under different branding.
Any changes to the 9 News Darwin updates won’t be noticeable immediately but I believe any changes including the branding will take effect somewhere around July 1, either from Newcastle or other studio possibly either Wollongong or Hobart It probably won’t be a 30 minute News bulletin but rather 5 minute news updates
Makes me think of this..
Audio: The sound of a racing gate opening, accompanied by a bell ringing and sounds of horses running, followed by a P.A. voice that says “IN FRONT!”.
Looks better.
So with a news control room being built in Newcastle, will the local news updates for 9 news Darwin still be aired from Newcastle or Wollongong or Hobart?
The latest news update on 9 news Darwin seems to be getting more news than normal in the single noodle update. The latest news update can be seen in social media. It will be interesting to see if the new owners will maintain the news updates or downgrade it
The total air time for 3x updates and weather is equal to the same amount of content that was shown in the old Nine News Regional format news windows.
WIN hypothetically ending these updates would be a poor decision. Darwin now has access to a regional news network to deliver content to Territorians in ways that are more cost effective than previously.
Are these times advertised anywhere, or is it a matter of pot luck?
They start before 6pm news and get spread throughout programming into the evening. Darwin gets an opt out during A Current Affair, NNQ etc.
Given WIN relatively recently introduced news updates back into SA and WA, hopefully they at least continue with the updates into Darwin. Optimistically they keep a reporter up there but that might be “too expensive” for WIN.
There’s been nothing in the NT News or local media which mentions a possible return of a Darwin based news bulletin. I would think it’s highly unlikely WIN will ever reinstate a bulletin in Darwin. continuation of news updates is the most likely outcome
Let’s be honest. This is WIN we’re talking about. A continuation of the current setup would be the absolute best outcome. I can see them going to rip and reads, or just junking it completely. If Newcastle, which is a much larger and much more concentrated, market is being reduced to a 30 minute pre-record, there’s very little chance of an improvement of services for Darwin and a very high chance of a reduction of service.
