Wouldn’t that make it a news story?
Today on the Melbourne afternoon news Tom Steinfort joined Brett McLeod at the desk to chat about the day’s news in the 6:00pm bulletin.
It’s not uncommon. Alicia joined Brett a few weeks ago when i last watched the bulletin.
Alicia presented a report from the LHS presentation area today.
Been a long time since I last saw this spot used on air.
Clint Stanaway does the sport preview from the LHS area on Sunday’s.
Not an exclusive. Was on 7 News too.
It was the opening story on Nine’s 4pm news and claimed as an exclusive. Seven didn’t mention it in their afternoon news.
Thanks for that clarification.
I hadn’t noticed it on air on the weekend edition recently, but I checked last nights recording and it indeed was!
With the introduction of Seven Melbourne’s new news studio tonight, hopefully Nine will react and do some other small tweaks to the set
- Fix the damn live backdrop with something that spreads over the videowall properly
- Add a single videowall to replace the LHS nine-screens like Perth/Adelaide
- Even better - another larger standing presentation area screen to replace the RHS plasma and lightbox graphic (doubt this will ever happen)
Nine’s set feels a bit outdated after seeing the new tech from Seven, but overall is still quite nice because it has other elements along the floor.
If they were to replace the RHS plasma and light box graphic with a LED wall, then that can be the weather presentation area.
I don’t know why Clint Stanaway does the sports preview from the LHS wall on a Sunday night.
My thinking here too. Would look good as a dedicated weather area.
For a 9-year old set design, it’s aged extremely well. Nine and the people they chose to make it should be very proud of their work.
It also helps that the current graphics package is the best one we’ve seen on this set.
Absolutely. Such a well designed set.
The pieces are fine. The only aging things are the videowalls.
Replacing them with modern alternatives will make a drastic difference.
The updated east coast desks alone made the sets feel so fresh.
I personally think the original 2016-2020 variant was truly the best looking on this set. Although the current package is very much an updated version of that.
