Regarding the news theme, composer Lalo Schifrin has died.

That’s such sad news. Did he compose the original track from Cool Hand Luke or one of the variants made for Nine?
It does get knocked for being a bit old, but something about the violins etc oozes authority to me and it stands the test of time.
He composed the original film score of Cool Hand Luke, amongst other works like the main theme of the Mission: Impossible TV series (the basis for the movie theme).

Did Nine acknowledge it in any bulletins?
It’s almost like 9 & 7 are trying to 1-up 10 News+ lately

It’s just like in the old days of slides in the background.
I can remember the days when commercials used stills/slides and the end of a show promo finished with a slide (a sketch, name of show, and broadcast time). This was on regional tv.

The first EIGHT minutes of tonight’s Sydney bulletin was devoted to the Origin decider.
Mike Dalton was in Temora at the local bowlo which had the bulletin on the TV in the background .
And the Countdown clock got a workout too.
