Impressive promo. One of the best I’ve seen from an Australian news service in a while.
I also thought the way they split “needs to know” into two separate screens was kind of tacky, seemingly not wanting to draw attention they they’ve stolen that from Seven.

I really liked this. No tacky voiceovers, simple clean titles that actually ties in to the world news vision being shown.
Just goes to show how poorly executed 7’s Unstoppable campaign was in comparison. The same type of world events promo but done right.
‘Your News’ as a slogan is also slowly growing on me. It’s telling the viewer the news belongs to them. Seems like a subtle nod against the older “FIRST FOR NEWS” type campaigns that didn’t resonate so well with audiences.
Especially after De Ceglie’s rein, I think young people that aren’t regular FTA viewers seeing these promos on socials, local billboards and bus ads etc will at least subconsciously notice the difference between a more mature brand and a nastier sensationalist one.

Different and nicer than usual opening shot on the morning news. Would be cool if they were able to do the headline recap during the afternoon news in that globe section for something different instead of full screen graphics.

Looks like a new Brisbane promo which is interestingly all about Melissa and doesn’t mention Joel. A strange marketing push unless Joel isn’t returning to Australia until the end of the year?
Also interesting to note the use of an old news jingle in the background, has their production music subscription expired?
