Looks like the red is gone. Blue lights on the roof also.
I assume set updates are Melbourne only. Really are throwing everything at Vic it seems.

Where’s this from? The set was definitely still red an hour ago!
From the promo in the Instagram
Apologies it’s probably not related then.
Probably seeing the sports set next door. Doubt they’re moving into that.
Not the full east coast…. Yet
Full bulletin from tonight:
Also uploaded by @Brad , Alicia’s first night reading the weekend news in December 2011:
Interesting pickup. Not sure if its just an error in the sentence but otherwise they could take it in turns reading the 4PM bulletin? Good extra exposure for Tom if so.
Also, shouldn’t that be the 14th?
I’d say Dougal Beatty will be presenting the afternoon news full time now
So why did they say new set and all, they made it like something was already built, yet it all looks the same on tonight’s set?
Perhaps it’s just moving parts around.
Im hearing new elements to it.
Will the early morning news, mid morning, 5 pm weekend news and late news get a new backdrop as part of the refresh?
Wait and see!
Big day for TV, Nine, WWOS and GTV tomorrow… So many things anticipated to launch/re-launch (or within coming days/weeks), let’s see
Cue the notification avalanche, mods on high alert for riff raff and these things:
Happy eve to those who celebrate!
Would be surprised if Melbourne waits till Monday… to align with the new presenting team.
The new team start tomorrow, to take advantage of the start of the Australian Open.
Also essentially zilch on Seven tomorrow (and others bar ABC with new Muster Dogs and Total Control - which will skew old and lots will do iView especially the latter anyway) and the biggest TV night of a week, another positive with starting the tournament a day early, getting a jump, optimal weather for everyone concerned too
Quick question, does anyone know what time are Nine’s first updates on a Sunday, in case they start using the graphics during the updates instead of waiting till 6pm?
Updates are usually around 3PM-5PM.
While this was designed in an attempt to cut down on the late-night finishes the Australian Open has become famous for (not just last year’s Murray-Kokkinakis late-nighter, but who could also forget that famous Hewitt-Baghdatis match in 2008 that started just before midnight?), it is still inevitable that there will be the odd late-night finish on at least one day at this year’s tournament.
With Alicia and Tom starting tomorrow night, I also wonder if Peter Overton will return in Sydney as well? The early start to the AO might be the perfect day for him to do so, and give Nine’s Sydney news ratings a boost as, despite having lost the broadcasting rights, Seven News tends to rate higher in that market during the AO fortnight.
Yes, Overton will return tomorrow night as mentioned from Charles at the end of the bulletin tonight and on their Socials.
