Trying to connect with a younger audience?
A brand new era will start on 9News on the east coast tomorrow night.
Really? I wouldn’t have known that reading this thread.
Better make sure the hamsters are ready for it
I think it’s fun! After years of brands being super minimal and simplistic with their logos, and as someone who is fascinated and follows the branding industry world, it’s nice to see something a little more dynamic and animated.
Yeah make sure this site doesn’t crash down.
“On the east coast?” The last few times 9News had a graphics change, all capital cities updated on the same night.
Interesting to note that Joshua Dawe was seated for the sports preview. Usually it’s presented from the LHS screen on weekends
It has been mentioned that it’s apparently only launching in Sydney and Melbourne. No confirmation on Queensland. Perth apparently early next month.
If they are rolling out set changes then I’d say it will coincide.
Ah okay thanks @Nicholas.
Not forgetting Sydney
Bring in the New National Nine Nightly Network News Now.
Final shots
And perhaps Queensland - Queensland news for Queenslanders by Queenslanders who work in Queensland.
Guys - some bad news, I’ve got Server Maintenance booked in for 5:30 to 7:30 tomorrow night…
This thread will open tomorrow evening for discussion of the refresh
is it a good idea for the refresh to have it’s own thread? why not just leave it all in this one for the sake of continuity?
We’ve discussed that we’ll start breaking out threads to cover the first few days of big events like this - this will be a test of that.
Good move imo.
I remember the 2020 relaunch got split amongst a few different threads for regionals etc. Easier to look back over in the future through a single thread.
Hamsters gone on strike now over lettuce and mixed vegetables?
Going by the camera angles, it is possible that Roz Kelly and Jonathan Uptin may have been positioned in the same area, but not in the same standing spot (if that makes sense).
In November 2017, Cameron Williams and Tony Jones presented sport for their respective markets’ bulletins in the same area at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, ahead of the Socceroos’ World Cup qualifying match against Honduras that evening (I was at the game and was able to capture the photo below).
Brisbane is an hour behind. No reason they couldn’t use the same spot.
