Wouldn’t surprised me. Half arsed news from interstate.
Hyped up like 9 Local News then it came from a broom closet. Could have easily recorded local windows from the main metro set. There’s no creativity these days. Just chromakey.

They both say ‘live’. Did they cross at different times. Or would they have been pre recorded, but labeled as ‘live’

I reckon since both presenters are “Peter” they are both effectively live, one would probably be just a few seconds behind the other, and both say the same things.

Very much doubt that. I imagine it was just a short cross. Sydney would have finished at 6.05 and Melb started at 6.06.

Sydney will cross live first then play the story.
Melbourne will play the story first followed by a live cross.

Looks very boring.
I wish they would bloody turn that red panel behind the main screen white and then use LED lighting to light it to the required colour.
Would just require literally white paint and a roller…

From the same metro set that is used all afternoon for pre-records, updates, afternoon news, and 6pm news?
You would need some very creative use for that.
Also wish they’d get rid of the permanent red, don’t think some paint is the answer however.

It’s time Nine got new sets. Sick of seeing the same one all day. Today, Nine News and A Current Affair. Boring. Variety people! Sunrise even have a different set to Seven News.

I feel like they do a decent job of making them look different enough, especially ACA.
At what cost? That would not change the viewing needle or bottom line at all so doubt it would anything worth considering. Would it be nice? Absolutely, very unlikely however.
A very recent change, they didn’t for a lot longer than 9 has. Probably not the greatest example.

Huh? Sunrise haven’t had the news set since the early 2000’s.
Sunrise always had separate sets to 7News except for the very early days. Not such a recent change.

I think Today should move over to the soft set area and leave the news set for just the news. I’ve never been a fan of Today using the News Set.
