5.45pm the Court is back.
Reporting nationally at 5pm on the Tonga tsunami from the Kangaroo Point cliffs. The pretext that the high tide was 10 cm higher.
A mask is useless on the fingers, and heâs outside anyway, why not just put it in the pocket, and the item wasnât COVID related anywayâŚ
they want to be seen to be having them with them.
SA TV, how do you know that ?
Well what other explanation is there? He accidentally glued it to his fingers?
Oh I just know things.
I know it was a directive to Nine journos during lockdowns last year that, if there is a mask mandate, you should have a mask on or in your hand. It was all about encouraging compliance and covering their ass if people decided to go down the âbut the media arenât wearing their masksâ route.
Certain stations around the country implemented it differently. Some had reporters even doing their PTC in a mask, while others just had it in their hands.
If thatâs the case, it should be on properly or not at all.
I donât think having it in your hand is really the right message.
The message is essentially âIâll be putting this back on once Iâve finished talking to cameraâ. You donât think thatâs the right message?
It doesnât really say that to me.
Really? Weird.
Itâs wrapped around his fingers - what else is he going to do with it but put it back on?
Maybe only when a police officer shows up.
Donât be contrarian for no reason. The messaging is very clear. They donât wear them on camera so theyâre easy to understand especially for hearing impaired people.
As usually happens during the AO each year, 9 Gold Coast News is being shown on the SD channel while the tennis continues in HD on LCN 90.
9 News at 5pm in Perth will be rebranded to 9 News WA First. Returning January 31.
That seemsâŚpointless?
I assume the name is a dig at 10 News Firstâs Sydney based presentation.
Makes sense. Local stations in the US are doing this with new 7pm bulletins, framing them as more in depth and getting answers to differentiate them from their 6pm bulletins. Allows them to push more local news without hopefully diminishing their existing edition. Good promos for local connections too.
