Because the earth rotates and it is still daylight at 6pm in early April 
Next week it probably will when Daylight Saving finishes on Sunday.

Just recently noticed that Nine News QLD seems to have a different/new VO for their promos? Seems to have changed very recently (first noticed it on Sunday, but could’ve been longer).
That would be Steve Barker (4BC newsreader) doing the promo voice over. He did voice one promo from a couple of weeks back and is probably just filling in.
“Breaking” can be seen behind each one of the intro headlines. All you can see is the end of the word…
No idea why they don’t turn the RHS lights on - looks so dim.
It would be nice to see Nine rejig that RHS nationally too - not used enough in the states with a separate older screen.
I’ve mentioned before that they should replace the lightbox behind the screen with a big single videowall and use it for weather.

Don’t know why they don’t normally use a live shot - much better. Same goes with Melbourne - the 4PM backdrop isn’t bad but the live shot is just better.
