Nine News Content and Appearance (2015-Sept 2020)

Huh? If you’re after a game, why not start a new thread? That could actually be fun.

But as to the question at hand, fairly certain I’ve read somewhere it was at the ANZ building. Happy to be proven wrong, if indeed it is across the river at Yarra Edge as you claim.

Yes.

From Random Mocks, January. :slightly_smiling_face:

What does the 100 before Hitch’s name refer to? He’s not 100 (yet) :grinning:

Some changes coming to the show?

Edit. Just realised this thread, for some reason I thought this was Sunrise lol.

I’d say this definitely has to do with Sydney changing to the other studio in preparation for the move to North Sydney.

I was thinking something among the lines of what some Sydney viewers (and one Melbournian who tried to pass it off as an “Exclusive”) saw on Tuesday afternoon!

Tonight’s bulletin was the final to be broadcast from Studio 21 at Willoughby. I’m not sure if anyone mentioned it earlier, but I guess this all but confirms that Nine will be using the same set/elements of the current set at their new home in North Sydney.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the first North Sydney bulletin not happening until at least Late October/Early November?

For the set to be out of action for about two months, suggests that at least some tweaks could be in-store for the new facilities. I’m still willing to predict that the side videowalls will be removed (or at least repurposed elsewhere) leaving Sydney’s news set looking more like what QTQ has North of the currently closed border, but of course we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

My guess is some big Techincal upgrades to the set with cabling lighting video walls and 4K cameras. And a few design changes.

Amber said in her post that there is only a few weeks left in Willoughby, so I presume it will be earlier.

Won’t be 4K cameras. That’s as big a fad for TV as 3D.

But there will be significant rigging and set up involved, plus testing and rehearsals before going to air.

While I would not expect to see 4K Nine News Sydney bulletins going to air in the immediate future, it’d be a very brave person to dismiss the idea of an increased resolution TV picture later on down the track.

15 years ago, people would’ve laughed at you for suggesting that we’d one day see native HD pictures on Australian TV news bulletins both in the studio and out in the field. Yet in 2020, most networks in this country are producing news bulletins in HD to some extent.

What a silly comment, especially from a poster like you that I actually respect. It’ll be the norm eventually, it already is in some countries and online streaming.

Assuming they would have to contract some floor crew for this interim period?

Massive upgrades everywhere for the move.
News isn’t excluded from this, will be good to see once done.
