Nine News Content and Appearance (2015-Sept 2020)

Didn’t catch Carrie-Anne Greenbank’s update from the scene, but I did managed to cap the first In-Program “Breaking News” super for the story:

Carrie-Anne Greenbank’s report. I also just heard her during the Nine Radio News on 2GB at 11:00pm.

I believe it was relocated, but rebuilt / modified to nine spec (the previous one was a dodgy knockoff that WIN built).

LIVINIA not LAVINIA. And yes they have been running the new look live break for a few weeks now

The refit of WIN’s dodgy set to the then-new Perth-Adelaide look happened before the relocation to Pirie Street (21 September 2015).

This report from October 2014 shows the set already refit. Skip to 1:50

Neil Breen presenting sport in Sydney this evening, with Erin Molan in the host chair for the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup (I would assume).

It’s only been one week for the new Adelaide afternoon line-up. While at the start of the week it seemed that it wasn’t having a big impact on the 6pm numbers, but by the end of the week, its hard to put a positive spin on the numbers.

Oh my, Nine Sydney just aired an old report!

It was meant to be about the Sydney Roosters win in the World Club Challenge, but they aired last night’s preview by mistake, which was aborted mid report. They didn’t show the correct report at all.

Sorry Livinia.

Livinia auto corrects to Livonia…could have been worse.

I don’t watch 9news so apologies for spelling the name wrong!

Apologies for the offense to yourself it has clearly caused… hit a nerve there?

Maybe @insidethebunker IS Livinia?

They uploaded the correct report to Twitter, though it doesn’t have the 9News logo in the corner.

OFFENCE not OFFENSE. Could you please issue an apology for your apology?

Just kidding, I’m not a regional spelling pedant.

Nine News in Adelaide needed to change things up, but the change they have done is the most pointless.

What needs to change is the amount of Adelaide News. Most nights there is only 7 stories from Adelaide, which at most go for 2mins. They could go into more depth and detail but instead keep it light.

Tonight they had a graphic of Adelaide suburbs, the story was on stolen cars, in which they placed the graphic names of suburbs against the wrong places! It’s not hard to get the basics right, right?

Than it comes to sport; in which they think is AFL. As the non host rights holder, you would think you’ll cover it but limit it, especially as its preseason and all you really get is who’s wearing red socks compared to blue ones.

Tonight is a perfect example of how they let themselves down the rating spiral of death - let’s have 4mins of AFL preseason news, quickly run over the men’s cricket and finish with a putt in USA.

Did they not have their own channels on in the newsroom? In which they would have seen a Women’s World Cup T/20 match on GEM. Would you not think, promote your own sports first, kick off with the cricket, and say it’s live on GEM.

They need people in Adelaide watching their channels, in which they don’t even promote themselves. What makes it worse tonight is that Australia are playing in that game!

They are also the major sponsors of the Adelaide fringe, so you might think they could do a story each night of a show or the fringe, but no, why would they want to promote the fringe and themselves?

There needs to be new people in at that station, ones that understand the Adelaide market and your own channel. It’s a shocking news service and changing the 4pm news for 5pm wasn’t the answer.

I’ve been tracking the afternoon ratings numbers for Nine in Adelaide. No improvement this week with the 4pm- 6pm programming down another 25% from last Tuesday. That carried through and saw Nine News down 21% from last week.

Nine Adelaide’s Wednesday result was one of its lowest results so far. The audience across 4pm to 6pm was 39% lower than last Wednesday which in turn was 40% lower than the previous week (before the change). The audience lost is 94% loss of the current audience or 51% of who was watching 2 weeks ago.

94%, is that right? Seems a bit steep… Wouldn’t that be more closer to 50-something % decline over the two weeks on Wednesday’s?

That’s also way of saying it. The audience lost is equal to 94% of current audience so they are sitting on about 51% of 2 weeks ago. I’ll edit it to make it more clear.
