We got that in Sydney, too. Cringed when I saw it.
I knew it was different!!
When a user sends in photos but has also sent them to the other networks, what’s the sense in watermarking them? Only 10 News First seems to have credited the person who sent them in too.

Nine is assuming that they were the only ones to get them?
This week’s viewer competition on Nine News Sydney:
Also I don’t know whether they’ve recently upgraded something or what, but TCN are now doing “Seven style” camera angle movements (or as close as you can get to that under automation) for the story intros with specific screen graphics:
There are also now camera zooms during the weather as well, whereas previously it was a cut between two cameras for the state/national maps.
Finally, I think we’ve got a new contender for the SydneyCityTV “Most Interesting PTC of 2019” Award with this one from tonight’s bulletin with none other than Mike Dalton direct from the coolroom of the Channel Nine Canteen!
This didn’t seem to last long because while Coles Insurance is the current Sponsor of the Weather in Sydney (and I presume all five markets), I didn’t see that bumper tonight or on Sunday.
Makes me wonder if Nine might’ve got viewer complaints about the return of these in-bulletin Sponsorship bumpers after they had disappeared for a while.
Aldi probably complained about Coles muscling in on their territory.
It looks better though it is still not as smooth as it could be. I always hated the camera changes:
Interview from the Darwin set. Wonder how it looks in full scale now…
Please tell me that this is a line equally applicable to the weather coverage on Nine News Sydney as it is for Today.
Why would it? Amber saw an increase over the first half hour last night. She’s a winner!
I still don’t get how 3 minutes towards the end of a broadcast dictates the ratings of a full 30 minute time slot
If the weather coverage really is not a factor in the Sydney TV news ratings, then why did Seven air “David Brown Returns” promos in the lead-up to Sunday night? Or better still, why are Nine not airing “Amber Sherlock’s Weather” promos?
I get your point, but I think there are other factors contributing to the scenario. From what I am interpreting from your point, people are switching from 9 to 7 to watch the weather and then back to 9 to watch ACA? (considering it rates well in Sydney)
Exactly. Which is ridiculous. Makes no sense.
Yeah, i’m kinda getting sick of reading about this to be honest. Constantly bringing it up doesn’t really stimulate any conversation about the matter.
Going by a promo I saw during the last ad break, Sydney will be getting it’s annual Taronga Zoo Tickets Competition next week.
