Gold Coast montage from Tuesday night - opener, some crosses, sport, weather etc. My first attempt at one of these videos, so not sure how successful.

Solo presentation tonight but still the usual âwith Bruce Paige and Eva Milicâ voice over - Bruce gets this on Fridays as well. Wish they would record a couple more.

With Seven being more competitive this year, are Nine doing that American thing where the anchor is tied with the name of the bulletin? ie. âThis is Nine Gold Coast News with Bruce Paige and Eva Milic⌠anchoring tonight- Mia Glover.â After all, that is why they dropped the Harvey VO.
That sort of thing really only happens with national bulletins - otherwise, local news would just sound pretentious.
Sorry but that just sounds stupid, why announce a presenter that isnât there? Then again, if it comes from American news⌠Nuff said.
In Mia Gloverâs case, production likely just chose the wrong audio file (Bruce & Eva instead of presenter-free), and/or they donât have an opening announcement for her.

The problem is Nine donât seen to have a generic opener for the Gold Coast anymore. Again tonight it was âBruce Paige and Eva Milicâ despite Eva presenting solo again.
Same last Friday when Bruce presented solo.

They might have to get OâSullivan recording a new one for Paige-presented bulletins.
But whenever Eva Milic is presenting solo, couldnât you do a version with the words âBruce Paige, andâ edited out of the track?
Without Eva, they have no succession plan. Without Bruce, they donât rate. Nine are trying to sell them as a duo after Eva was introduced last year- that is why Jono has a personalised VO on weekends because he is unfamilar. This comes after Seven have started to gain ground this year. If Seven do, it will be the first time in 22 years that Nine hasnât been number 1 on the GC.
Also, notice that no one has presented this year, other than Eva or Bruce. This is what BTQ did last year with Max Futcher, and they managed to win over the Brisbane audience.

They could do what WIN used to do with their classification advisories and splice together pre made audio clips? âThe following program is classified click⌠M âŚclick it contains crackle, mic rubbing on shirt, police siren in background ADULT THEMESâ

Strange GC hasnât seemed to do the standard thing and record each phrase separately for freedom to cut and paste variations.

They could if they wanted to, but they donât. They donât want to separate the anchors from each other or separate them from the bulletin, which is my point.
But there will inevitably come times like the past few nights where theyâll have no choice, either due to sickness or sending a presenter on-location for a big story. Itâs not a crime in Adelaide when Brenton and Kate present separately, or in Brisbane when Andrew and Melissa present separately.
I get what you are saying - I wouldnât have considered that point until now. What I find so âjarringâ is that the way the voice over script runs, the timing see the âwith Bruce Paige and Eva Milicâ at the point when the studio cuts in and it it so obviously incorrect. Perhaps if that part of the v/o opened the bulletin with the headlines following it would be less obvious.

Due to State Of Origin, NT and SA viewers are receiving Nine News Sunday at 5:30pm, following the afternoon news.

9 News Adelaide is on 6-7pm like normal, the first half hour of pregame coverage is on 9Gem from 6:30-7pm then moves to 9 from 7pm.
