Nine Network 'Warehouse' On-Air Presentation (May-December 2006)

Why on earth would A Current Affair have aired at 7pm on 1/12/2006?

Was there any cricket?

The only reason I can think of is that Day 1 of the Adelaide Ashes test was on the 1st of December. Close of play was probably 6:30 AEST (considering time difference).

To avoid Naomi Robson’s final edition of Today Tonight of course!

Classification Advisories

IMO, this look definitely hasn’t aged well. I didn’t even like it back then, preferred the first ‘dot-less’ presentation from earlier in the year.

Featuring the late Annalise Braakensiek, if I’m not mistaken. She was a contestant on Torvill & Dean’s Dancing On Ice (which only lasted one season IIRC), hence the “icy” Nine logo!

Was never a fan of the Nine 2006 look

Was this all based on a REAL warehouse?

TAken from Channel Nine Brisbane (4 September 2006 - early morning)

This is during a Collingwood—Kangaroos match (from the MCG) which was the final match of the 2006 AFL Home and Away Season. Collingwood would smash the Kangaroos by 68 points. As well, this was the end of an era for Channel Nine’s AFL coverage. The Seven Network would regain the AFL broadcasting rights from early 2007. After Nine lost the AFL, it was game over for Channel 9
