Good move as the Storm are playing and there is no (men’s) AFL on that night.

Possibly a sign that the finals matches featuring the Storm might be shown on Channel Nine in Melbourne? Afterall, the team has been going pretty well this year…

They go pretty well every year.

There is an AFL Women’s State of Origin game that night (September 2) on Seven.

Thats hardly competition, is it?

AFLW rated over 400k for a game earlier this year.

Non-finals NRL (or AFL) on main channel in non-traditional markets, is bound for fail.

Not sure what Nine are thinking there  The Parent Trap on 7flix will probably out-rate it!

(The two Sydney AFL teams rated just 71k on the main channel in an earlier round this year - proof).

Nine being cocky? Or trying to boost dismal 9Gem numbers in Melbourne this year? Or because of the above AFL example, Nine wanted to try it with NRL in Sydney?

Didn’t you see “(men’s)” written in parano1a’s post?

Eggheads, a program that is also on ABC, screens on Nine Darwin on nights they take NRL / The Footy Show live to get them back on the delay schedule in the middle of the night.

I think the program is only used for markets behind the East Coast to fill these sort of holes.

A brand new episode of Kevin Can Wait aired at 2:30pm today. However, it isn’t scheduled next Saturday. Why are they stuffing this around? Just air it on 9GO with the other comedies.

Much like the title character of this brilliant comedy, the viewers can wait.

Didn’t realise they’d gotten off their arses to schedule this again.

Its been airing on and off Sat 2.30pm for 6 weeks or so but yesterday was the first actual new episode.

So NRL finals are on 9Gem in Melbourne?

Even though Seven has the AFL finals involving Sydney & GWS on Ch 7?

You’re asking why separate networks are determining whether matches from separate sporting codes with separate broadcasting deals have a different level of priority?

Melbourne Storm’s Week 1 final has been scheduled out of primetime (Saturday 4.10pm) so it won’t impact Nine’s ratings share. I’d expect it to be on the primary channel in Melbourne.

Surprised that nine got law and order: the Menendes brothers…will be funny to see the law and order franchise on a channel other than ten

If Ten had not gone into administration I am sure it would buy the rights to the show as well.
It will be interesting to see whether Nine schedules Menendez Brothers on Thursday nights, same night as SVU.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it will rate, but just wierd to see it on nine.
