Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Nine of course kept some programming (first picks?)

Harry Potter, new Big Bang, etc?

Yes, Nine apparently (?) confirmed it via a supposed unnamed source, as you recalled.

Hi
That was me. Nine of course terminated their deal with WB and made changes to their ‘life for series’ deal. MOST of the changes viewers will not have even noticed. They terminated all of their on sell deals. For example many will not know that Supernatural is actually owned by Nine and it is onsold to Ten. As of this year Ten will actually own Supernatural outright. Same for a whole heap of shows that Nine onsells to Foxtel. There are quite a few. Nine decided to keep some shows individually such as The Bachelor, The Big Bang Theory and The Middle - so all in all the schedule as viewers would see would remain intact. They had decided to dump 3 shows - Mike and Molly, Mysteries of Laura and 2 Broke Girls. However, with these series cancelled, they decided that viewers should be able to see the final season. So they changed their minds on 2 Broke Girls because it actually is just the final season that needs to air and they also decided to bring back Mysteries of Laura. That will conclude forever next week. Mike and Molly is the exception. Still no plans at the moment to bring that one back.

They also only had the final season of Mike and Molly to show too so that’s disappointing.

“Diana: The Day the World Cried", which looks at her funeral on 6 September 1997, coming soon to Nine. The program will be on Smithsonian Channel in the USA on 27 August, and on ITV in the UK on 29 August.

Diana: The Day the World Cried

Sunday 3 September at 9.40pm

It was the day the world was brought to a standstill to farewell the “People’s Princess”, and Nine will remember it with Diana: The Day the World Cried, on Sunday, September 3, at 9.40pm.

Diana: The Day the World Cried, narrated by Kate Winslet, tells the story of the funeral of the Princess of Wales 20 years on, through the memories of people who played a part in it, many speaking for the first time. They include those who worked under great pressure behind the scenes, such as Sir Malcolm Ross, who had just six days to plan the funeral service at Westminster Abbey, and chief pallbearer Captain Richard Williams, who had the weight of the United Kingdom on his and his men’s shoulders.

This gripping documentary features previously unseen archival footage and exclusive interviews with key decision-makers and mourners, shedding new light on an unforgettable day in history.

Wednesday, September 6, 2017, marks the 20th anniversary of Diana’s funeral. The international impact made it one of the most-watched events in history. One million people lined the streets of London for the funeral procession, while 2.5 billion people around the world watched on television.

Diana: The Day the World Cried presents the incredible global reaction to the death of the People’s Princess in a way never seen before when it premieres Sunday, September 3, at 9.40pm on Nine.

Law and Order: SVU… interesting that Nine’s acquisitions in the franchise are growing.

I thought schedules were not allowed release until 9am Monday

Are you saying there’s an embargo on network schedules?

There is.

Media Spy complies with all embargoes on publishing forward schedules.

Have Nine changed? They were always 9am on Monday?

The guide for Sunday 27 August would have been available on Nine’s yourtv/The Fix from Midnight this morning, and it’s the same on every online guide. So is Nine and Yahoo!7 etc breaking some embargo every week?

Also, the Monday SMH with the next Sunday’s TV guide is available before 9:00am.

And in this case, its 9am of the Sunday before the week in question

Yes they have, one would have thought that you of all people would be aware of that.
