Could Nine get the rights to MKR or is it not possible because Seven made and owns it ?
Yes Seven owns the brand. Why would Nine want that show anyway?
Considering Nine Upfronts are in 2 weeks, anyone want to take a guess as to what Nine will air to fill the gap that The Voice has left?
Could they possibly do a Plate of Origin and re-use their current coaches (at least Delta and Guy) and hosts of The Voice for another show?
No idea, but I wouldnât be expecting too many surprises for next year given the current state of things. Apparently the upfronts this year will have less focus on new programming, and be more about advertising to agencies.
I think Celebrity Apprentice would take that slot along with Lego Masters/Ninja Warrior extended to fill the gap.
When international borders reopen in the future, I wouldnât mind seeing Nine commission a local version of Race Across the World.
Ahh youâre probably right - though I do know they had already commissioned Celebrity Apprentice before losing The Voice, so I wonder when they had originally planned on airing it.
Crazy to think that Celebrity Apprentice (which probably wonât cost a fortune to make) plus a few extra episodes each from Lego Master/Ninja Warrior can replace a $40 million show, though Nineâs potentially losing some momentum in terms of winning the network/primary channel shares.
Nine has finalised a new deal with Warner Bros and will air new episodes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show later this month.

Where has Days Of Our Lives and Young And The Restless went to? have they been axed again or just paused due to the Covid pandemic?
That means Nine should be able to air new episodes from Tuesday, September 22.
Nineâs 2021 virtual upfronts will be held this Wednesday (September 16) at 3pm AEST. This time it wonât be streaming live to the public so we will have to rely on social media for updates as the event proceeds.
I hope they will announce some new reality and drama for next year. Maybe even a Lego Master Kids or something to fill the void The Voice has left behind.
It also sounds like Love Island might be a replacement for The Voice which probably means that it will air at 7.30 instead of post 8.30.
