Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Seeing 9 promoting 20 to 1 and Generation for after Easter makes me think they are going to have an awful second quarter…

Another really weak programming schedule.

Nine can afford to relax a bit after building such a big lead on the back of Married at First Sight and Travel Guides.

If anything, they shouldn’t be relaxing but doing everything they can to continue the momentum they’ve generated off the back of a strong start to the ratings year

Exactly.

People still watch TV when they’re away.

Especially now as the sun is down by 6pm.

And advertisers still want to advertise. If they can’t get the audience at Nine, they’ll give their money to another network.

The Nine Network’s predominately Sydney-based programmers & management probably think everyone’s either at the Show or up/down the coast* over the next two weeks! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

*Mind you, very many Sydneysiders actually do those things when Easter, the NSW school holidays and ANZAC Day all neatly fall in the same two weeks. But of course, Sydney/NSW isn’t Australia as a whole - Victoria & Queensland (at least) will likely be at school next Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday!

The schedule isn’t any different to previous weeks except for the absence of MAFS

Timeless

From Tuesday 30 April at 9:10 pm

image

When a group with nefarious intentions attempts to change the world as we know it by altering the past, Lucy, a historian, Wyatt, a soldier, and Rufus, a scientist, unite to form an unlikely partnership, traveling through time to save history.

Premiered October 2016. Was cancelled at end of season but received a reprieve then cancelled after season 2. 16 eps in season 1, 10 in season 2 plus a 2-part separate finale.

Why were these deleted and added again?

Plenty of opportunities for TCN to catch up with QTQ on Lethal Weapon just in this next week alone.

10.50 Monday, and two hours from 10.25pm Wednesday. Even Tuesday has repeats from 10.10pm.

What other plan could they possibly have to catch up or don’t they forward plan?

What if Lego Masters doesn’t rate high.

I don’t think Nine will panic and they’ve probably played it safe with recent shows/premieres in a rapidly declining environment by forcasting internally and to advertisers not too high.

Their YTD lead and consistent performers like The Block still massive and even The Voice if average these days they can rely on.

Q4 will be interesting, is there still no word on FFF?

It was announced at the Upfronts last year.
