With True Story moved to Tuesdays as of August 1 and Britain’s Got Talent finishing soon, here’s what I think the post-8.30pm line-up will be next month:
Sunday: 60 Minutes (as before)
Monday: Here Come the Habibs
Tuesday: True Story
Wednesday: This Time Next Year
Thursday: The Footy Show (as before)

AFAIK Habibs finishes next week. I was thinking Karl’s new show might get the Monday timeslot.

Are they going to pair up Hamish & Andy with Kath & Kim repeats?

Now confirmed for next Monday. Probably wanted something rather than a comedy to go against HYBPA hence them move of H and A to Tuesdays.

Schedule Update:

Tuesday 25 July
Sydney, Brisbane
09:20 PM Skyfall (2012) (unchanged)

Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth
09:20 PM Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Thursday 27 July

08:30 PM Skyfall (2012)
11:30 PM The Footy Show NRL

Yes they are, according to TV Week.

Any sign of The Big Bang Theory?

Not at all.

So predicable.

wasn’t sure which thread to put this in

I notice Ch 9 are airing the movie “City Slickers” (1991) on Saturday afternoon.

Now, it got me intrigued, because I recently saw “City Slickers II” (1994) on 7flix.

Upon closer investigation, whilst both were theatrically distributed by Columbia Pictures, the former is digitally/home media distributed (theatrcial & that are two seperate things) by MGM, which Nine have the rights to.

Whereas the latter movie is digitally/home media distributed by Sony, which Seven have the rights to.

How does that even happen!? I don’t get it!? It’s certainly dumb for free-to-air TV, due to what I just explained

NB/
Further to that, MGM home media in Australia is (or was) handled by 20th Century Fox.

Also, both movies were produced by Castle Rock (who after 1994 I believe) have exclusive digital/home media distribution handled by Warner Bros. Which Seven now have rights to, although Nine have kept major films/franchises.

A mess.

As you deduced, it’s simply because MGM owns the original movie and Warner Bros owns the sequel.

Is this the first time a movie released by Universal has a FTA premiere on Nine? Seven ended the output deal with NBC Universal last year.
