Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

And Victoria has dropped Instant Family Premiere, hope they’ll reschedule it?

Given Seven will be airing the West Coast v Melbourne game live from 8.10pm-11pm AEST it would make more sense to air Footy Classified after 11pm so it’s not in direct competition with the game.

Or Tuesday night like they’ve done in the past.

Oh! I was looking forward to it. Why Nine???

I was looking forward in watching that special too.

Maybe Nine thought it was on “too late” in the night, and may air it at an earlier timeslot at a later stage?

Perhaps on the Thursday night before the start of NRL finals?

Just heard on 3AW that Nine have confirmed the upcoming final season of Ellen will NOT be airing on Channel 9.

Seems strange to dump it after so long, considering it’s the final season. It could’ve played out on a multi-channel instead if numbers weren’t doing so well for the main one.

Well, i think that’s odd too, considering its long run on Nine, and it is the last season. Surely one of Nine’s mulit-channels need new content during the day and shove Ellen there. lol.

What will air now until the end of the year? At the moment, it is:
12pm: “filler”
Anywhere between 12.10-12.30: The Block (due to various length time)
2pm: Pointless

Today Extra Extra at Midday next year, perhaps? :stuck_out_tongue:

Pointless is doing surprisingly well for Nine in that slot (according to @TV.Cynic) so I would be surprised if it was removed.

I imagine that Ellen is expensive, especially fo a daytime spot and way too expensive for a multichannel in daytime. I’ve been thinking that during the lockdowns the 11:30 news could easily be extended past 12 noon, then The Block follows on 4 days and Travel Guides on the Friday.

But I think the main pint is that Nine’s afternoons are performing significantly better now than when Ellen was in the schedule.

Although the show is in its final season, DeGeneres herself has copped some flack in recent times over stuff going on behind the scenes. So with that in mind, it’s not overly surprising that Nine has decided to drop Ellen.

…or maybe “Nine News Now” could eventually return in a new timeslot, after quietly disappearing from 3pm at the end of 2019 in favor of Tipping Point? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Probably more likely we’ll just see Midday Movies/Primetime Reality Encores at 12pm though.

What about finishing off Lip Sync Battle???

What are the midday ratings between networks?

Considering the Kelly Clarkson show is destined to replace Ellen in the US during that Oprah slot, no reason why they couldn’t show the KC show a year early here. It’s been running for a few years anyway.

Doesn’t Paramount+ has the rights to Lip Sync Battle in Australia now?
