HAMISH & ANDY TO STAR IN NEW SHOW ON CHANNEL NINE IN 2017

Australia’s favourite comedy duo, Hamish & Andy, are set to return to television in a brand new series for the Nine Network in 2017.

The fun-loving stars announced details of the new program this morning on the TODAY show, live from the South Pacific, where they are sailing on what they have dubbed The People’s Cruise, together with listeners of their top-rating radio program.

Details of the new TV series, to be made by their Radio Karate production team, are being kept under wraps for now.

Michael Healy, Director of Television for the Nine Network, said: “Hamish and Andy are unique talent in Australia and we’re privileged to enjoy a longstanding relationship with them. The Radio Karate team have now created a bold and exciting new concept that we’re excited to bring to the Nine audience in 2017.”

Hamish Blake commented: “We are rapt to be continuing our journey with the Nine Network and we’re going to spend the rest of the cruise working tirelessly to invent a new cocktail to celebrate the occasion."

Radio Karate has previously produced five smash-hit series for the Nine Network: Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year (2011), Hamish & Andy’s Euro Gap Year (2012), Hamish & Andy’s Caravan of Courage: Australia v New Zealand (2012), Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year Asia (2013) and Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year South America (2014).

Should be fascinating. I wonder if some of Rogerson’s friends will make an appearance, in particular a prominent Sydney radio identity and a well known public prosecutor.

Nine tried to incorporate content from three states into a Friday night program which could compete against The Living Room, the AFL and Better Homes and Gardens, but it failed miserably.

I thought they might dump The Briefcase to a later slot. So 20 to One moves again? So it’s had Tuesday and Sunday and Tuesday and Monday.

Obviously moved to avoid ratings juggernaut Pets LOL on Seven :expressionless:

Nine had no choice but to bump The Briefcase after its big drop in ratings this week. 20 to One should increase its audience against Highway Patrol. MasterChef will still be well in front though.
